Need a reason to visit Dunedin, Florida this Fall? Here’s one of the best reasons I can give you, and I can promise we will enhance the days around Nov 7th as we get closer.

After writing and applying for my first ever grant, my destination musical arts event was chosen to receive funding from @creativepinellas . This allowed me to put together one of the craziest single-day shows I have ever pieced together. 🧩

Revolving purely around my passion for improvised freedom music regardless of genre, we have built a line-up of the most exploratory and adventurous musicians I know of.

@skerik (coming from Seattle) will be visiting Dunedin for his first time and doing a solo ambient sax-electronics set with visuals by @blazinspace

If you have no idea who SKERIK is, please ask me. 😈

@mikedillonofficial & @joemarcinekband will unveil Mike & Joe’s Demonstratorium. @therealjonditty’s new band with members of The Heavy Pets (called SIDE MEAT) will perform a small featured set.

The rest of the event is fleshed out with wild ensembles alongside a few actual bands like @electrickif @chaunces & @mutantfusion_collective . We even have Jamie Newitt (of the Heavy Pets) lofi project @tiny_blips in the mix. Vocalists @kristopherjamesmusic and @jd_bluffs will round out the obscurity and help us translate to soul.

At the end of the night, I will host a @zerocontextmusic moment featuring a complete circus of raw spontaneous musical composition featuring as many of the artists as we can plug into the mixer for an unorchestrated moment of musical clarity through avant-garde design.

I love what I do. I don’t give AF if someone doesn’t understand my personal approach to art and music. If it’s not for them, it’s not for them... But for those that love the act of IMPROVISED threat of vomit and musical group meditation and JOY: This event is for us. 💥

Catch us tomorrow with NO STANDARDS musical experiments alongside my conspirators Vinny Svoboda and Tucker Sody and special guests Michael Nivens (of Ajeva) and Brian Doss (and more). 👁

We will be on the Moon Tower stage so come enjoy the evening in the beer garden with our free form musical freedom. Dale’s Epic Trivia will be rocking quizzes at 7pm in case you want to test your wits!

I don’t hate the man, I resent the man… bc I have to abide by rules he clearly doesn’t.

I sometimes just wanna mash random notes. Sometimes wanna just repeat off grid. I just wanna prove that freedom exist.

Just vibing out with @vinnysbass @michael_garrie @joking89_____9 with NO STANDARDS

We also had a nice mini @followthemonarchs moment since Brad Elliott happened to just fly back into town and @cabecrisler was reddy freddy.

I love hanging out with friends and our instruments and “talking shit” with music as our language while sharing it live and loud on stage for others to enjoy. The best part about improv is the result is experienced at the same time by the audience and band. The only separation is the hands on the controls of the noisemakers.

NO STANDARDS is less a traditional band and more of an experimental jam session. We do it again for @dunedinbrewery Oktobeerfest next week with @tuckersody back on kit and guests @mikeniv7 and @drian_boss PLUS more.

LIFE IS A DREAM….

When we spent 3 days in a cabin in the woods of Appalachia, we not only relaxed and chilled. We made a bunch of music, including some vibes outside like this.

KNOW YOUR ROOTS
New studio music dropping soon!

This track was built from previous projects, Peg & Awl and Follow The Monarchs (respectively) in a way where I broke apart the multitracks from 2 different bands from my past and edited it back together for a dubbed out result. After I fused the two together in my DAW, I tracked melodica with the laptop mic to ensure quality wasn’t ruined by some fancy microphone.

Not conclusive, but this track showcases 2 impactful times in my life when creating music with others. Peg & Awl was an old timey psych-folk trio I lived with in St Augustine in 2011. Follow The Monarchs was a Dunedin-based psychedelic punkjam band.

This one has been waiting for the right time to release, but recently I have been feeling ready to start truly dropping some new musical art to the world—even if ultimately just for me to enjoy. ☺️ by @downwiththeinternet
