𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 | 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 | You will not find a better party than Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The Carnival Season starts in January on Three King’s Day and ends on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Streets are blocked off for parades; the air is filled with music and excitement; and you go home with all sorts of party favors. The parade bulletin is a special type of party favor. Designed to distill the ephemeral experience of a Mardi Gras parade, the bulletin is an idealized assemblage of elevational drawings that turns the moving parade into a static spectacle. Like a tableau ball, floats pose next to each other in their best dress, forever commemorated through a tangible artifact. by @doza.obj

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 | 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 | The parade bulletin, however, reveals very little about the year-long preparation process and the organizers behind the party. Known as “krewes,” the social organizations responsible for each parade pick the theme and plan events around it. The composition of a krewe is related to shared identities among its members. While krewes historically consisted of wealthy, white men, the 1900s saw a rise in krewes formed by communities of different races, genders, and sexual identities. Parading during Mardi Gras became a critical space for shared experience and expression between the krewe members and the public. by @doza.obj

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 | 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 | Inspired by the ornate confectionery in French Patisserie, we propose a speculative recipe for the construction of the prominent Boeuf Gras Float. Through a series of prescriptive techniques, this proposal speculates on the behind-the-scene production of Mardi Gras floats as distinctly New Orleanian cultural artifacts. It additionally asks us to consider who is at the party, who set the table, and who is cleaning up. After all, the day after the party is the start of the next one. by @doza.obj

Usually starting with a visit to the resident doctor, the sanatorium experience is tailored to each individual's needs. The regulated schedule is architecturally expressed through the circulation and spatial sequence through the sanatorium. The schedule often includes a mix of collective and individual activities consisting of physical exercise, nutritional meals, and medical treatments such as the oxygen steam bath. by @doza.obj
