We built a camera rig that probably should not exist… so of course we filmed with it.

Meet **VERTISCOPE** — a mad-scientist SmallRig camera rig experiment designed to rethink how creators capture both vertical and horizontal content.

This setup gives us an almost-square image after rotation and desqueeze, which means more flexibility when creating for Reels, Shorts, TikTok, YouTube, and traditional widescreen edits.

It was never meant to be a normal event coverage rig.

It was made to test an idea.

Can one experimental camera build help creators think differently about framing, social media content, and cinematic vertical video?

Huge thanks to @xtratech_official for the invite to Los Angeles for the official launch of the all-new Xtra Tech Muse 2 Pro. It was an amazing experience getting together with an incredible group of filmmakers, YouTubers, photographers, and content creators to get an exclusive first look at what Xtra Tech has been working on.
