Projects: Bar Finch Mayfair

At Bar Finch, lighting shapes the experience from morning coffee to evening aperitivo. A layered composition of Murano chandeliers, decorative lighting and candlelight creates a warm, intimate atmosphere, while discreet integrated joinery lighting draws focus to the bar and the vibrant displays of the Cabinet of Curiosities and deli. Dimmable controls allow the ambience to evolve seamlessly throughout the day, transitioning from relaxed breakfasts to atmospheric evenings.

Projects: 1 Hotel Tokyo, Japan

Supporting the biophilic design vision, illuminated planting creates a forest-like atmosphere, while specialised lighting sustains living walls beyond the reach of daylight. By mirroring natural rhythms, the scheme supports both plant health and guest wellbeing.

Projects: 1 Hotel Tokyo, Japan

Inspired by the hotel’s deep connection to nature, the lighting design for 1 Hotel Tokyo supports three key themes: biophilic design, sustainability, and Japanese craftsmanship. Seamlessly integrated with the interiors, light enhances natural materials, living greenery, and reclaimed elements throughout the guest experience.

Past: SS Oriana - 1960

Launched by Princess Alexandra on 3rd November 1959, SS Oriana was the last ocean liner commissioned by the Orient Steam Navigation Company. Built by Vickers-Armstrongs in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, she became one of the defining ships of her era. Derek Phillips Associates, now dpa lighting consultants, designed the lighting for the interiors, collaborating with Sir Hugh Casson, Brian O’Rourke and R.D. Russell. When Oriana was absorbed into P&O in 1966, a connection began that continues today, with dpa still proudly working with P&O more than six decades later.
