“Beyond verbal solidarity, our commitment is materialized through campaigns designed to build broad bases of popular power in active confrontation with imperialism in this hemisphere. We believe that the best offering that we could place on the graves of the martyrs of Gaza is the undertaking of collective action to expel all persons and institutions profiting from imperialism’s exterminationist agenda in Africa, Asia, and the Americas.” 🇵🇸🇵🇷 by @dpcnycnj

Oct 3rd 2026 will mark 9 months since the kidnapping of Pres Maduro and Cilia Flores. Recent news of the ailling health of First Combatant Cilia Flores as a result of her unlawful incarceration makes this upcoming monthly rally outside MDC Brooklyn particularly urgent.

Every month since January 3, we have gathered outside the facility to demand their immediate release and to build local opposition and grassroots resistance against escalating U.S. imperialism. We hold these rallies in defense of Venezuelan sovereignty and all the ongoing liberation movements across the Global South. We are organizing to establish a Zone of Peace in our Americas. A year ago today, September 23, 2025, our community barriles were consecrated at the inaugural ‘La Bomba Crece en Loisaida’ bombazo! To celebrate, here are some pictures from our first anniversary celebration, held earlier this month ❤️🇵🇷

A resounding THANK YOU to everyone who made the evening special:
🏠 @loisaidainc.center and @lasaladepepe for always holding it down
💃 @megancuret for grounding us in the history and practice of bomba, and walking us through some paseos
🌴🪶 The amazing vendors, who pulled up to support and donate their proceeds: @mariavthrows @pinchazostoreofficial @rebelorisha @abarukonoinc @joner144 @jayaeratropical.shop
📸 @bridgeblanco for the photos
🌱And our amazing, growing community, that continues to show up for the culture and for our people!

For this bombazo, we came together to raise funds to materially support organizations on the archipelago doing necessary work on different fronts of water sovereignty 💧and we managed to raise $470!!, split evenly between @defiendeacaborojo , a grassroots movement fighting against megaproyecto Esencia in Cabo Rojo; and @amigxsdelmarpr , an environmental organization that works in defense of Puerto Rico’s nature and people. We encourage folks to keep supporting organizing efforts on the ground, while we continue our struggle from the belly of the beast.

¡PA’LANTE! ¡QUE VIVA PUERTO RICO LIBRE!
🇵🇷

Join us this Friday, September 25th at @sixthstreetcc , to remember the 4,465+ lives lost in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, and collect ourselves for the long fight ahead.

Nine years ago, Hurricane Maria devastated the Puerto Rican archipelago. Coming on the heels of Irma, another category 4 hurricane, Maria left an already strained public infrastructure devastated; hundreds of buildings destroyed, roads impassable, and thousands of people in the dark waiting to hear if their loved ones were safe.

The repercussions of the U.S. neglect are still felt today. Vieques is still without a hospital, over 100,000 people left the island, and Puerto Ricans are still waiting on $11.3 billion from the U.S. government in disaster relief.

As we mourn the lives we lost, and the conditions our people continue to experience, we recognize that the world did not stop after Hurricane Maria. So neither will we.

¡La lucha sigue! ¡Siempre pa’lante! ✊🏼

🇵🇷

✊🏼 by @dpcnycnj

This Wednesday, September 23 at 6:30pm, join us in honoring the 158th anniversary of El Grito de Lares with a screening of the documentary FILIRBERTO by Freddie Marrero Alfonso, followed by a discussion with Adolfina BK, Diaspora Pa’lante Collective NYC/NJ, and JUPI BK moderated by Christian Mártir.

Amid multiple rebellions and insurgencies against Spanish colonization, El Grito de Lares makes an indelible mark on Puerto Rican history. In the late 19th century, the Revolutionary Committee of Puerto Rico—led in exile by figures like Ramón Emeterio Betances and Segundo Ruiz Belvís—builds abolitionist, pro-independence networks that link Puerto Rican resistance to earlier and ongoing Latin American and Caribbean liberation movements. Their organizing carries forward a long tradition of anti-colonial struggle, even as Spanish counterinsurgency efforts force resistance to adapt.

On September 23 2005, the anniversary of El Grito de Lares, the FBI assassinates co founder of Ejército Popular Boricua (Los Macheteros) Filiberto Ojeda Ríos. Filiberto organized with multiple armed clandestine groups understanding the need for confrontation with the US to achieve freedom.

This cyclical imperial violence is a main tenet of our current show, ¡AN UNBREAKABLE HUMAN THREAD! Movements & People for a Sovereign Borikén, up at Interference Archive which has been EXTENDED to September 30th!

Beautifully designed by @gauini & @__pedrolopez and printed by @luckyrisograph

Through examining the Puerto Rican independence ephemera at Interference Archive, “¡An Unbreakable Human Thread!: Movements & People for a Sovereign Borikén“ engages in a dialogue of collective study through a coalition of organizations in the diaspora that are educating and fighting for the liberation of Borikén and its people. These diasporic grassroots organizations are part of the long history of movements and people dedicated to the struggle for a liberated Puerto Rico, which revered Marxist independentista Doña Consuelo Lee Corretjer calls an “unbreakable human thread.”

About the Exhibition:
Through examining the Puerto Rican independence ephemera at Interference Archive, “¡An Unbreakable Human Thread!: Movements & People for a Sovereign Borikén“ engages in a dialogue of collective study through a coalition of organizations in the diaspora that are educating and fighting for the liberation of Borikén and its people. These diasporic grassroots organizations are part of the long history of movements and people dedicated to the struggle for a liberated Puerto Rico, which revered Marxist independentista Doña Consuelo Lee Corretjer calls an “unbreakable human thread.” This show is by no means an exhaustive take on the movements that have fought for an independent Borikén. Rather we present this as an invitation to study, share, and reflect on the strength of Puerto Rican resistance as it fortifies the unbreakable human thread that sutures and bonds our liberatory struggles globally.
