High quality, small batch, hand dyed camo and other assorted surplus. DM for purchases

POSTS STORIES REELS

Another hippy camo shirt. This one was for the homie @brandosurplus and was my first time trying a true batik technique. How do you think it turned out?

Batik is a method using melted wax to create a pattern or image that resists the dye from penetrating into the fabric. And as long as you don’t accidentally spill hot wax all over yourself or the shirt, it works really well by @dquoi.dyes

NFS- CTAPS prototypes and somewhat of a mysterious USMC mesh base layer

Three of the most comfortable and favorite pieces(that I’ll wear) and I highly recommend picking up any of them up if you ever come across them. The CTAPS were sourced locally and the mesh base layer came from the legend @apollos_camo.. I have not been able to find much of any information on it so if you are knowledgeable with the shirt then please learns me by @dquoi.dyes

1978 Bob Allen x Ducks Unlimited shooting jacket

Not dquoi’d or surplus, just showing off a neat jacket in my collection. I have owned this jacket for over 20years and it’s been on countless hunts with me. That Bob Allen quality still holds up to this day(maybe not so much the waterproofing but that’s an easy fix) YKK zippers, padded shoulder, chest flap pocket with 5 round shotshell holder, Bob Allen buttons, and it even seems to be NIR compliant. It’s mostly retired from hunting but I still take this nearly 50 year old beauty out from time to time to get some fresh air and watch sunsets by @dquoi.dyes

Hippy camo

I like shapes, textures, and patterns. I think tie dye is a great way to break up the human silhouette. One of the ideas that I had when starting dquoi was to make something that is both tie dyed art, and could function as camouflage(earth tones > loud colors). This shirt was an experiment an experiment of a few different techniques, plus it’d been a while since I had some fun and tried not having too much expectations.. I hand sewed a duck silhouette in the center, had I used something stronger than thread me thinks I could’ve gotten it tighter and more defined. I’ve also been playing with batik (wax resist technique(last photo)), it worked better than I expected for the half assed effort I put into it so I picked up an actual batik pen and yall might be seeing more stuff like that in the future *wink wink*

Silly anecdote- I have a buddy who is also a big hunter and is adamant that tie dye works better than camos because the animals don’t associate it with danger and think that you’re like… a chill dude. He also has one of the highest success rates of bow hunters that I know, I’ve seen him walk straight up to within 15ft of a deer and drop it while wearing one of the brightest tie dyed shirts that it was mesmerized by. Made a believer out of me by @dquoi.dyes

Sumpfthing a little different. My first attempt at reproducing a camouflage. It’s started as a plain white tshirt, bucket dyed the tan base the hand painted the pattern. I used rit dye on this one so I wasn’t too surprised it faded so much and almost completely lost the raindrops (if you squint really hard and move your head around you might see them). Still, it was a fun little project and I’ll probably do more pieces like this in the future. Feel free to suggest some camos I should try reproducing by @dquoi.dyes
