Hoy cumplo un año desde que me mudé a Monterrey con mis dos bebes y un par de maletas. Lo que empezó como una curiosidad de cómo sería mi vida en mi país de origen, me llevó a buscar oportunidades que no sabía que existían. Acepte el puesto que hoy tengo en Tec Monterrey, confiado en que sería una oportunidad para crecer en mi campo académico y recuperar lo que perdí cuando me mudé a “El Norte” hace mas de 26 años. Poco a poco aprendí a amar esta tierra de una forma diferente, tal como es, y sin comparación. Hoy, sigo siendo aquel niño que fue criado por una comunidad que fisicamente no se parecía nada a él. Sigo siendo aquel jovencito que fue protegido e inspirado por maestras que eran de culturas muy distintas a la de el. Y Sigo siendo aquel hombre y profesionista que, a pesar de las limitantes, fue educado y formado por un país que no era de él. A ese país, y a todo esa linda gente que me dio tanto sin pedirme nada a cambio, les agradezco eternamente. Les debo todo lo que soy hoy en día. Y a mi México y toda su gente hermosa que me ha recibido con los brazos abiertos y me ha brindado tanto cariño desde que llegué aquí, espero no fallarles. Me siento tan orgulloso de ser mexicano, increíblemente feliz de haber encontrado un hogar en Monterrey, y muy afortunado de ser parte de una institución que me ha ofrecido oportunidades que nunca pensé tener en tan poco tiempo. The city canceled in-person classes for most schools in Monterrey and switched to online (COVID era style), after last nights crazy storm. It just came out of nowhere and left as if nothing happened. Two years ago, I flew to Monterrey with my two little pups, some luggage with the things I needed to start my new life in Mexico (mostly suits 🙈😅), and a head full of dreams. Monterrey has been so great to me in ways I cannot possibly articulate. To everyone who welcomed me with open arms when I found myself completely alone in a place I didn’t know, THANK YOU! I am still here because of you! I love you and I hope I get to live many more years as a member of your beautiful community. ❤️ by @dr.arit

This is from a kid I taught during my first year as a middle school math teacher. He must be 25 years old by now. I really hope he has the good life he wanted to have by the age of 25, quality not quantity, and the education to help him help his parents. ❤️ by @dr.arit
