It’s officially official! Dr. Bryn! I can’t say I ever knew this point would arrive, it’s hard to put into words that this is all I ever wanted and also that I had no idea it would look like this. It might even be better than I dreamt of ✨ The human body is a miraculous arrangement of atoms composing cells composing tissues composing bodies. Forever changing, forever adapting, forever giving us feedback. My greatest desire in life is to offer space for you to experience yourself. For you to recognize your unique collection of atoms and to listen, to respond, to evolve into the next shape of you. Working with the smallest babes, the preteens, the elders, and everyone in between has been a gift. You are in the perfect place. It is impossible to stray too far from your body, or to turn inward too late. Your body is ready for you as you are. I am beyond humbled and so very excited to be stepping into this next chapter. Let’s support your body together. Books are open! Call to schedule your appointment today! Portland Chiropractic Group (503) 224 2100 I am in the process of building! There are countless reasons why I do this work… I could probably yap for lifetimes if you gave me a mic! Portland! Share with your people! This is for YOU! If you have questions, curiosities or needs, I am here. Isn’t it wild that we are all just living lives with brilliant bodies? Let’s support them together. Xx, Dr. B by @dr.brynluna
More on the psoas! I always aim to return to “why”? The design of the human body is so brilliant even when our bodies are doing things that feel challenging/painful/uncomfortable, returning to the function can offer us insight into why our bodies are doing what they are doing and how we can work WITH our bodies to find more ease/comfort/pleasure. Again…. so much to say! Let me know what you think ✨ by @dr.brynluna
Psoas time 📢📢📢 I could really yap forever on this one, the psoas is so vital to our body function! This is just a little dip into psoas land by way of anatomy. There is…. so. much. to. say. about the psoas and it’s easy to get lost in the sauce. Going back to form and function can offer simplicity and foundation to build our understanding from. How have you been orienting to your psoas? What does this bring up for you? What do you want to learn more about? Breathe deep and take it slow. Xx, Dr. B PS— ran out of time to share a teary psoas moment (there are many) but one of my faves involves crying in my anatomy lab when I got to see and touch a real human psoas directly…. my professor at the time giggled with joy as we both marveled at the beauty and brilliance of human anatomy. Such a profound weepy experience, I am so grateful 🥹 by @dr.brynluna
Have you ever considered how and why the bones of the pelvis move in relationship to each other? No surprise that I think about this a lot, haha! Getting curious about your body is not to know every single thing there is to know about anatomy, but rather giving ourselves an opening to understand how our bodies move and how we can support them! Compensatory patterns are a brilliant strategy of the body to help us continue to move our bodies through life. As a chiropractor, my job is to help the bones move in ways that feel good- stable, mobile, supported! When certain areas of the body are not moving well, other areas pick up the slack. Brilliant! Until it doesn’t feel so good anymore. Good thing our bodies are forever changing and evolving and capable of moving in new ways and feeling new feelings! Compensatory movement patterns were actually a huge motivation for me to focus my practice on kiddos! And a big focus in my work with adults too. Stay tuned for more on our besties the psoas and iliacus 🤌🏼 l’Il tell you about one of the times the psoas made me cry 🥹 by @dr.brynluna
Boney anatomy of the pelvis! I am a movement human down to the core and understanding how the pelvis moves has helped me so much in understanding how to support my own pelvis and the pelvises of my patients! Functional stability means not only STRONG but also MOBILE! Strength and stability through our entire range of movement! Our bones and our bodies are designed to move and I love that we get to learn more about how they move so that we can better support them. So much more to say.... What’s your favorite part of the pelvis?? by @dr.brynluna
POOP TALK 2/2 🚽💩 Oh to be 3 years old! So much to say about nervous system coming online and learned adaptive behaviors that are actually quite logical. The body is brilliant and when we support our cells, we can move THROUGH an experience rather than developing long term compensation patterns. So much nuance in each patient’s story. And so much to say on how compensation can cause cycles of discomfort and disorganization in the body. Following curiosity and reverence for our body’s symptoms again and again. Poop thoughts? 💩 Share with a friend! by @dr.brynluna
POOP TALK 1/2 🚽💩 This is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to digestion/bowels/constipation/etc. and we could spend a LOT of time discussing this— I will certainly share more. This particular patient of the week offers us a special view into a more neurobiomechanical aspect of constipation and the cycles of withholding constipation following painful bowel movements early on in life. An incredible aspect of our pediatric patients is their bones are DIFFERENT, their nervous system is DIFFERENT and it is so powerful for us to address them and their bodies where they are at. Stay tuned for part 2 💩 Drop you poo thoughts below! by @dr.brynluna
Part 4/4 🧠 This work is such a gift. To hold, to offer, to witness. Our bodies are so brilliant and they are organized in such a way to support us through life. This case to me really highlights the incredible power of working with children—what if our bodies were supported from the time we arrived on earth? Certainly every case is different, and this patient had some big feelings in her body. It is truly such an honor to support her through it and see her shift into comfort and easy in her system. Our bodies are so resilient, may we find more spaces to support their brilliance ✨ by @dr.brynluna
Part 3/4 🧠 Craniosacral therapy for this sweet patient offered some truly profound shifts in her dynamic infant body! Supporting the movement of the cranium is a beautiful, low force technique to engage with the rhythmic nature of the cerebrospinal fluid which protects our brain and spinal cord, brings these structures nourishment and removes metabolic waste! The dura surrounds the brain and the spinal cord and restrictions in the cranium can affect not only the spine but our peripheral body as well. In part 4 I share more of how we used CST for this patient specifically and how she responded! What do you think? 🧠 by @dr.brynluna
The body truly never ceases to amaze me, in our tiniest humans we see the most profound things! Part 2/4 🧠 Bodies are telling us exactly what happened and what they need without even using words, we just have to tune into the frequency of the tissues 🫁 This 8 week old patient has a pretty familiar tension pattern to her fellow sunnyside up babies. There’s so much we can do here to support! Next up I’ll share some more about the effect of these stress patterns on her nervous system and how we use chiropractic care and craniosacral therapy to help her feel good and eat good! What do you think? 🧠🐣 by @dr.brynluna
Part 1/4 🧠 Our sweet sunnyside up babies! The way we come into the world (ALL of the various routes we might take) has a significant impact on our tissues! This is a beautiful case study that is going to take a handful of videos to share about... Girlfriend came out backwards and spent some time with her jaw stuck on her mother’s pubic bone 🥹 Stay tuned for next video about how the stress patterns of her journey into the world show up in her 8 week old body, how we treated her and how she responded! This work often feels like magic, like science, like everything in between 🌀 Spoiler alert— she’s doing great! PS trying new video format... taking feedback, slowing down, spacing out info... what do you think? :) by @dr.brynluna
