When a patient comes in with neck pain I always check the shoulders🤓

Most of the time I find they have a lot of trap pain and muscular imbalances⚖️

This can lead to shoulders in a constantly risen position and their head in a forward position🥴

Having your head forward and shoulder risen puts more strain on the neck and upper back muscles which can lead to pain😢

Adjustments, exercises, educating them on frequently switching postures is all part of the treatment plan🥳

If this sounds like something you have been missing use the link in my bio to book in today💪🏾

The neck has 7 bones that bend, twist, flex and extend🧠

The majority of patients I see the C5/C6 area moves very well, C6/C7 area tends to be stiff🙅🏾‍♂️

This is due to many factors but typically in people with stiff lower necks the patient and I usually notice 1 or more of the following;

1️⃣Anterior head carriage= meaning their head is sticking forward
2️⃣Shrugged shoulders= meaning their shoulders are in an elevated raised position
3️⃣ Stiffness or lack of movement with extension and flexion of the neck
4️⃣Poor shoulder movement with compensations in end range abduction, flexion, internal and external rotation usually accompanied by clicking or pain
5️⃣Decreased ability to move and control their shoulder blades through movement
6️⃣Neck pain
7️⃣Headaches
8️⃣Upper back pain (pain at base at the base of the neck)
9️⃣Mid back pain (pain between the shoulders)
🔟 Trap and/or shoulder pain

If you have noticed any of the following issues chiropractic treatment could be beneficial for you🕺🏾

This adjustment is aimed at the C6/C7 area and the goal is to induce extension in the neck👌🏾

Did you know tingling in shoulder, arm, hands or fingers could be associated with your neck pain and headaches🤯

Tingling, numbness, burning pains in the arm, hands or fingers is something I see almost daily😢

Most of the time these patients benefit quickly and significantly from a few changes💯

Lifestyle modification is always where I begin because if you are doing something detrimental for 8 hours a day everyday a few exercises and an adjustment is probably not going to be as effective as we would like it to be🏆

Strengthening with exercises and movement through adjustments really help people who suffer from tingling, numbness or burning pain sensations into the arm hand or fingers👌🏾

If you or someone you know is suffering from this use the link in my bio to book in 🙏🏾
