It’s not the destination, it’s the journey. For 11 years of my life I have been working towards becoming an attending physician. Now that I have reached my goal after graduating from residency last month, I realize that what makes it worthwhile is everything I went through to get here.

The days spent studying, the nights of anxiety, the countless exams, the failures, the essays and emails, the meetings and conferences, the self doubts, the moments of uncertainty, and the microaggressions.

The days spent serving others, the nights of peace, the countless blessings, the successes, the scholarships and awards, the love from friends and family, the self confidence, the moments of purpose, and the affirmations.

Sometimes we can get so focused on getting to a destination that we take for granted the precious moments along the way. These moments strengthen and shape us. I’m grateful for these experiences and excited for what the future has in store. by @dr.dgordon

Congratulations to my brother , Doctor Darnell🩺👨🏾‍⚕️

Darnell and I have been locked in since he was in medical school, so seeing his transition into a emergency medicine Doctor has been inspiring. Further, having friends at this level motivated me to pursue my law degree relentlessly because you understand that your goals are attainable 💯

Keep being an inspiration Darnell and setting the standard ✅‼️
