“But with God, all things are possible.” - Matthew 19:26 🤎 Today, I celebrate a significant milestone in my life as I graduate from @waldenuniversity with a Doctorate in Business Administration, concentrating in Information System Management. I have successfully achieved all my academic goals, including: • Becoming the first Walden student to publish a qualitative meta-analysis ☑️ • Maintaining a 4.0 GPA for my first two years, until my car accident ☑️ • Representing Walden University academics in the top 15% ☑️ • Making the Dean’s List every semester ☑️ Despite having to learn how to walk independently again, I overcame every obstacle placed in my path. I defied all odds and conquered everything the enemy threw at me. With that being said, I am: Dr. Ebony S. Billups, MSL, BSBA, AA. Today, I officially graduate with honors as Cum Laude (3.7 GPA). Don’t mind me, just celebrating my achievements a little louder today. I’ve often been told I’m too humble and tend to downplay my experiences and education. But as of today, I’m proud to share that it’s been a year since my research paper was accepted, and nearly a year since it was published. My paper, available on all major research platforms, has been downloaded 1,896 times across 20 institutions, 36 countries, and cited by researchers in the UK, Mexico, and the USA. The little girl in me can’t believe that ‘little ole me’ from Mississippi is making a global impact! Quick Testimony, A year ago, life dealt me a hand that seemed unfair—a car accident that fractured my body and shattered my confidence. I battled intensely pain, struggled to walk independently, and faced constant challenges that tested my faith. There were moments when I questioned God if I’d ever walk and be back normal again. It was a frustrating journey! I leaned on crutches and a cane, and dragging my leg at times. I was so embarrassed to ask for help and be seen, especially with losing over 30lbs. But Today, I proudly thank God openly!! Not just because I can walk independently again, but because I’ve chosen to seize every opportunity that comes my way. I’ve returned to mentoring our youth, rejoined my church dance team, and embarked on a journey toward better fitness. All while working towards completing my Doctoral and publishing my research paper. People ask about my goals, but my answer is simple: I’m grateful for the gift of mobility and health. My focus is on embracing each day with gratitude and purpose. My journey isn’t just mine; it’s a testament to the power that resides within every single one of us. We never truly comprehend our blessings until they are jeopardized. But it’s in those moments of adversity that our resilience shines brightest. I decided to be obedient and be vulnerable and create this video about my journey from undergraduate to graduate school.
