Y’all I am SO stoked to finally launch my new Functional Medicine offering!
✨
This powerful combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Functional Lab Analysis is such a level up in integrative healthcare. Now when I read your tongue and pulse at each session I can also incorporate your lab markers into the equation! Analyzing labwork from a Traditional Chinese Medicine foundation gives me so much more insight into your unique patterns and needs, allowing us to customize your treatment even more.
💫
Reach out today if you’re interested in Functional Medicine as an addition to your TCM treatments. As I incorporate it into my practice I’m offering a special intro rate - reach out for details on how to book 💃🏻🕺🏻 I can’t wait to work with you to reach your health goals! by @dr.em.acupuncture

Happy Autumn, y’all ❤️🖤🤍💚 stay cozy and stay well! by @dr.em.acupuncture

I’m finally doin it yall! In just under 2 weeks I’ll be hosting the first edition of Radical Roots, a BIPOC families playgroup here in San Francisco.
✨
As a brown mama to a 2 year old I’ve been seeking a parenting space that really resonates with me and my family. I want a space where we can talk about things like how to raise racialized kids, how to talk to them about the Palestinian Genocide and how to keep our families safe in America. Sadly I’ve been kicked out of and even doxxed in parenting spaces for bringing up that these issues aren’t “political” - they’re a very real part of parenting for BIPOC families!
☀️
So I decided to create a NEW parenting space - one that centers black, brown and indigenous families and our experiences. One where we don’t have to do a vibe check before talking about fighting for human rights. One where we can share our FULL selves - no code switching needed.
💫
I’m excited to meet new families and connect with folks in person. Let’s build community, raise badass kids and change the world, together! by @dr.em.acupuncture

I get to hold A LOT of babies at my job and I love it love it love it. I’m so grateful I practice the way I do - seeing one person at a time - because it means I get to snuggle my clients sweet tiny humans while they take a much needed acupuncture nap. New Parents need support in these early months more than ever, yet the barriers to care can be soooo hard to navigate. I love being a part of yalls village and will hold your babies, always and forever ❤️✨🙏🏽 so if you’ve been putting off a treatment due to lack of childcare, HMU! by @dr.em.acupuncture

Classic vs Contemporary 🌱🍄‍🟫🌸 Chinese Herbal Medicine is one of the most important parts of this traditional medicine. By adding herbs into the treatment plan we can see meaningful, lasting changes. Herbs help bridge the gap between acupuncture treatments, letting y’all take a piece of the clinic home with you!!
✨
My acupuncture school had the most beautiful raw herbal pharmacy. Getting to touch, smell and taste the actual herbs helped us learn them SO much better than just reading about them. Some clients even loved the raw herbal formulas - the process of cooking them down in water and drinking the *interesting tasting* decoctions was therapeutic to them! I find most of my clients these days prefer capsules, tinctures and syrups - the ease of this form helps with compliance. But I soooo miss mixing up these raw herbs for folks - it made me feel like such a badass healer!
💫
Any acupuncturists and herbalists recognize these raw herbs?! Tbh I’m surprised I remember so many!! by @dr.em.acupuncture

October Mood Board. Balance and new baby birthday banners and running amok in the mountains and herbal medicine at the kids museum and acupuncture acupuncture acupuncture. I’m seeing lots of new clients these days and I’m so proud of all y’all for prioritizing yourselves and your care this season ❤️‍🔥🙏🏽✨ I see you showing up for you AND resisting capitalism at the same time - get it yall!! See you in the clinic or on the playground soon xoxo by @dr.em.acupuncture

Proof of life ✨💃🏻
💫
I’ve been super uninterested in posting on this app lately. TBH it’s always rubbed me the wrong way that I get the most “engagement” when I post about horrible things happening to myself and fellow brown + black people. I know it’s important to continue being a public advocate for Palestinians and Lebanese people, both in our home countries and in the diaspora, but I want to be more intentional about how I do so and how I engage with media as a whole. Idk yall, it’s hard. Anyone else feeling similar feels? I’d love to chat.
💫
I also started using a screen time limiting app on my phone and holy cannoli do I feel a million times better!!! I highly highly recommend it y’all! We are not meant to be this online, at all. It’s bad bad bad.
💫
Anyways, I’m around. Still doing hella acupuncture and Chinese medicine, still parenting like it’s political and still trying to stay in community with like minded folks. Love yall, reach out and connect if you want to stay in touch more ❤️‍🔥 by @dr.em.acupuncture

I’m so so so stoked to meet up next weekend with a bunch of badass BIPOC families! We’ll be in the SouthEast side of SF this week so DM me for details 🥳❤️ as usual, please share with your communities!! I wanna make sure as many folks know about our group is possible 💫 by @dr.em.acupuncture

Summer energy ☀️✨ life is HELLA hectic in my household these days, but I’m grateful for morning trail runs in Golden Gate Park, this dinosaur family in my bathroom and all the little reminders everywhere that we’re not alone 🦖🍉❤️‍🔥 enjoy this peak summer Qi, y’all! by @dr.em.acupuncture

When I knew I wanted to add Functional Medicine Lab Analysis into my practice I was hellaaa sure I wanted to learn it from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective. That’s where the amazing Dr Jessica Parker @rootandstem came in!! Her course is the Master Class in learning Functional Med with a TCM foundation. I came through it feeling confident in my practice while also knowing I was staying true to my Chinese Medicine roots ❤️🌱✨ by @dr.em.acupuncture

Saturday Mood Board ❤️✨ clinic shelf vibes, holdin babies while their mamas get acupuncture, bar bathroom wisdom, Kali energy 4ever, delish summer lunch from the best @canyonmarket , new shoes vibes from the depths of my phone
🍉
I’ve been thinking a lot about how we aren’t meant to know and absorb the level of information thrown at us everyday. I’d love to know less about everything everywhere, and I’d love to know more about my neighbors. How do you connect with your direct community? I’d love some inspo 💫 xo Dr Em by @dr.em.acupuncture

As I look back over my labwork in the 2 years sinceI had my kiddo I am blown away by how much was dismissed by my care providers because everything was in the “normal” range. I was exhausted!! Thankfully I found Functional Medicine and was able to analyze my labwork through a different lens, so I could get the support I so desperately needed. If you are looking for a more holistic approach to reach your health goals, HMU! I’d love to chat ✨🍉 let’s get you feeling your best! by @dr.em.acupuncture
