A few of the outfits from last week in the office!

I am back on the road this week! It was a great time being home and in a routine.

See you in Dallas? Let me know if you’re going to Worlds in the comments!

Ghosts aren’t scary. Zero clients on the schedule is scary.
I left a salaried job to build a cash-pay practice where people actually get a full hour with one person.

Nobody warns you that the fear doesn’t leave. It just changes costumes. 🎃

First it’s will anyone book me.
Then it’s am I charging what this is actually worth.
Then it’s do I open a second location.
Same anxiety, new outfit.

The doubt still shows up every week. I stopped waiting for it to go away and just started working through it.

One of the best pieces of advice that I live by is “Just do it scared.”

Of course I am still explaining what an athletic trainer is. Every. Single. Week.

Which one got you? 👇

One of the biggest compliments I get when someone comes into the office is, “I just love your energy!”

It’s my absolute joy to watch you be FULL GO.

Whether your goal is something small, like picking up a coffee mug without pain, or something big, like competing for the world to watch, I treat it just the same.

So if you’re struggling with shoulder, elbow, or knee pain that you’re just kinda living with 🤷‍♀️, book a discovery call with Full Go. We’ll talk about whether we’re the right fit for you and how we can help you get back to doing the things that bring YOU joy.

Your sign to stop ignoring that knee pain🫣

Here’s the deal. Your shoulder is still bothering you. You’ve done every exercises you could with bands doing internal and external rotations. You’re still feeling “something” in the shoulder and it doesn’t feel right.

Today’s video is just an example of what I look at when you come into the office.

We look at the simple things first. How does your shoulder move? Can you move without assistance? Can you move joints above and below your shoulder?

Often times I find that addressing the “simple” things are what create effective change. It truly can be as simple as regaining range of motion and then loading that new range of motion.

The hard part? It’s finding that missing puzzle piece. 🧩

If you’re sick of feeling like you’re missing a piece, shoot me a DM and we can get you scheduled for an evaluation.

#ad I’m a clinician and an athlete. I say no to most products that land in my inbox.

This one I tested for two weeks straight. Every night I checked in on my pain before I put it on, and every morning I checked again.

Here’s my problem with magnesium: I love what it does for sleep and muscle recovery, I don’t love what oral magnesium does to my stomach. Ketro solved that.

I use it on whatever’s tight before bed — lately my low back, which I’m rehabbing from a pinched nerve. I notice the difference when I wake up.

If oral magnesium has never sat right with you, this is the one to try. Link in my bio. Use Code: KIM10 to get some money off!

Some random thoughts this Sunday!

1. It’s easier to address pain that hasn’t been lingering for years. Whenever you’re in pain, your body naturally starts to compensate for that pain that you’re feeling. Then other things above and below that pain can start to function differently and cause other issues.

2. Special tests are tools that help the clinician get a better idea of what’s going on. I believe that listening to your patient and their history can help you better understand the root of the problem.

3. Shoulder strength is great but never looking at the relationship between the shoulder and the thorax is a mistake that I’ve made before.

4. You don’t need sport specific exercises if you can’t do basic movements right. A lot of times the boring exercises have the biggest payoff in the long run.

5. Every rehab plan should have a strength component to it. by @dr.kimbacalla

A mini recap of @ppatour Chicago.

So grateful for @annabright.pb for trusting me with her care and having me by her side last week.

It was so fun to celebrate Anna on her birthday.

See you at the next one!! 💜💛

Who wants to see what’s inside my bag??

People often ask me what my best advice would be for pickleball players. Here are some things I live by.

Rest is part of training. Over training will eventually cause you to have an overuse injury. It’s also really great to step away from your sport and do something else to clear your mind.

This should be an easy one. A lot of people still skip a dynamic warm-up thinking dinking is a warm-up. Then they wonder why they can’t sprint for that first ball or why they have a sh*tty first game.

Strength training is the best way to prevent injuries. Let me know if you don’t have a program and I’ll connect you with the best people in the industry.

You don’t need electrolytes if you’re at the gym sitting in your phone for a couple hours. You need electrolytes if you’re outside sweating for more than an hour. Period.

1. Find a paddle that suits your game style.
2. Find the correct weight set up for the paddle. Generally not heavier than 8.3 for most people
3. Make sure the grip size is correct for the size of your hand
4. Stop switching paddles if you’re missing simple shots. Spend it on a private lesson instead. 😜 by @dr.kimbacalla

PPA Chicago

The people I got to spend time with this week are incredible. The best part of this job is the relationships that form along the way.

There’s nothing more inspiring, as both a player and a clinician, than watching your athlete compete and fight at the highest level.

Can’t wait to be back out there. 💜💙 by @dr.kimbacalla

Hot take: athletic trainers don’t have to dress like they’re headed to a 1998 golf outing. 🏌️‍♂️

Few topics I talk about get people more fired up than AT fashion and what professionals should or shouldn’t post online. Where’s the line between professional and crossing a boundary? Everyone seems to have an opinion.

I couldn’t do the khakis and a quarter-zip anymore. And I’m not saying everyone needs a wardrobe overhaul. I’m saying it’s 2026. You can show up in a sick @lululemon or @alo fit, stay completely professional, and still perform on the field.

Your clothes don’t prove your competence. Your work does.

But hey, what do I know? 🤷‍♀️
