Please Read carefully… Real Men Play Mas. 🎭🔥

Huge thank you to @mas.inferno & @torontorevellers for an amazing experience start to finish. Until next year ✌🏿

Dear Grandma, God is good. I won the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), the Patrick Solomon Award for Urban Diversity, and the Vernon Oliver Stong award for my research. I know you’d be so proud. 🙏🏾🏆

Growing up, I never thought of myself as smart, I never got A’s. I was just a boy who loved to read in secret. Now, being recognized as one of the top scholars in Ontario is a wild feeling. A lot of people who look like me are rarely given room to succeed, so this journey carries a different kind of pressure when you’re Black, walking into spaces with the weight of your community on your shoulders.

I’ve sacrificed a lot this past year to isolate and focus on this research. But the mission drives me: the financial system feels like a foreign language to Black youth, and I’m working alongside them to change that narrative. It’s about giving our youth the actual tools to build economic freedoms that matter to them and their families.
This recognition is proof that our stories matter. Big thank you to everyone that has supported me on this journey. #yorku #financialliteracy #black by @dr.marcmyvibe

Can’t complain. Even the losses work out in my favor. 🤷🏿‍♂️📈 by @dr.marcmyvibe

Not in a bad mood. Just locked in. 🔐 by @dr.marcmyvibe

Mastery of Education 👨🏿‍🎓

Blessed. Humbled and Thankful. I sacrificed time, sleep, mental health, relationships with close family and friends to get these degrees in hand.

The thousands of hours spent in the library reading, researching and writing my final major research paper “The Middle Ground: A Literary Study of African & Black Identities, and Liberations in Educational Contexts” were all worth it, and I couldn’t have done it without my support system who kept me up even when I felt like quitting or taking the easy way out.

I didn’t get to walk the stage but I’m proud to say that I graduated for the 3rd time and hopefully my future leads me towards a Ph.D.
