@laguarimba you have been simply magical. I've been gratefully changed, challenged, and inspired by all the incredible places, playful projects, and especially the beautiful people. I've left little pieces of myself with all of you, now scattered around the world, and I'm currently adrift in the appreciation of it all.

Thanks to @irelandinitaly for the generous support, @laguarimba for the incredible facilitation and motivation, all the people of Amantea for their countless random acts of hospitality, the bottomless creativity and curiosity of all the film residency participants, and especially @moe.bossard, @lilyjaytain, @pizzavreter, and @cassi_bp for all the laughter, love, and wonderfully weird family holiday vibes we shared!

Hope everyone is carrying a bit of the amazing spirit they shared back into the real world with them. Keep curious, keep creating, and may the pigs be with you!

Curious what this creative gang has been cooking up? Come and see them share their sonic experiments tonight — in the bank gallery, Rose Inn Street, at 8pm — as part of @aka_kilkenny's stellar 2026 line-up!

Over the past couple of weeks, I've had the pleasure of mentoring this group for the inaugural AKA Fringe 'Artists in Motion' programme. It's been a delight watching them develop their ideas, confidence, and coding skills. Can't wait to see them performing tonight 🤖🎶 by @dr.mindflip

📣 AIM is underway 📣

We are delighted to say that the AIM (Artists in Motion) project, a pilot collaborative arts project produced by the AKA for 2026 has hit the ground running.

Over the last number of days we have seen artists @dr.mindflip and @jadebutlerartist start their projects.

@dr.mindflip has commenced the process of creative coding, a group learning the layers of skills needed to create a soundscape. Creating something from nothing.

@jadebutler has started youth portrait workshops with a group of young people in Ossory Youth, exploring the themes and frameworks used within her own practice.

Both spaces have created interesting feedback loops and conversations around what can be created through collaborative frameworks.

A huge thank you to @ossoryyouth for use of the space to make this all happen.

Both projects will have presentations of work included within this year's programme.

This project has been kindly funded by @creativekilkenny

What a pleasure it was to host Patrick McGlynn over the past two weeks as part of our RCC Sound Studio Residency programme.

Patrick’s practice spans sound, music, games, and technology, creating rich and empathetic sonic worlds through live soundscape composition and electronic improvisation. We loved hearing about his journey from experimenting with tape recorders, keyboards, and an Amiga 500, to developing immersive approaches to sculpting evolving textures, rhythms, and timbres in live performance.

Over the residency, Patrick shared ideas and creative processes with us, and it was inspiring to see the curiosity he brings to his work. Most importantly, many exciting ideas were discussed over cups of coffee and chats, so we very much hope this is only the beginning, and that he’ll be back working with us again in the future.

Thanks again, Patrick, for two brilliant weeks in the studio. This residency was made possible thanks to support from @creativeireland. taken in Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny by @dr.mindflip
