I wrote a book. Because of this, Something Good Will Come challenges everything our modern world teaches us about success and suffering. We are obsessed with avoiding difficulty, with eliminating obstacles, with making life smoother and more predictable. Yet the most extraordinary achievements in human history have emerged not from comfort and predictability, but from moments of profound disruption. Fortune 500 companies founded during recessions are twice as likely to survive their first decade. Entrepreneurs who start businesses after job loss are thirty percent more likely to succeed. Students who face early academic setbacks show higher rates of eventual graduate school completion. The pattern repeats across every domain: disruption, rather than destroying potential, often reveals it.
