Growth doesn’t always look like big leaps. Sometimes it’s showing up, staying steady, and choosing to believe in your own process—especially when the next step feels unclear.

Small routines remind us we’re still here, still trying, still holding steady.

Therapy is a space where we hold complexity—but growth also happens in the everyday moments that keep us grounded: a cup of coffee, a quiet morning, a simple pause between sessions, time to reflect.

I’m grateful for this work and for the space it creates to witness resilience and healing every day.

Even as a psychologist, I pause.
I take time to slow down, to listen inward, to recharge.

One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned in this work:
we can’t pour from an empty cup.

As psychologists, as helpers, as humans — we need moments to reset.
To breathe.
To simply be.

I’ve learned that pause is powerful.
Recharging isn’t stepping away from purpose — it’s what sustains it. 🤍

A diagnosis can be a doorway — not a box. 🕊️

For licensed mental health professionals, it helps us name what hurts, so we can begin to help you feel better and heal.

The DSM (Diagnostic Manual) helps us understand patterns of suffering —
but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

Compassion, context, and a comprehensive understanding of you —
always come before making a diagnosis.

My approach blends evidence-based understanding of symptom patterns with deep compassion —
because healing begins when we see both the data and the humanity. 🤍

You may have noticed , I’ve taken a pause from posting content and recording new podcast episodes — and I want to share why.

I have been in an intensive training & consultation program to learn an additional evidence-based treatment approach.

As a psychologist, ongoing training and education is part of providing responsible, high-quality care — This allows Psychologists to stay current in scientific advances in the field in implementing scientifically supported treatment models and provision of care.

This work requires time, focus, and intention.

I’ll be returning in coming months with more content and upcoming podcast episodes.

Thank you for your patience while I focus on the work behind the work —behind the scenes. More to come ! 🤓

Sometimes the signs of struggle are obvious — both to you and to the people around you.

And when struggle becomes visible, many people experience a second layer of pain: shame.

Shame for not “holding it together.”
Shame for needing support.
Shame for being seen.

It’s okay to not be okay and there is no shame in visibly or quietly struggling.

Visible struggle is not a personal failure.

It is information signaling that something requires attention, care, and support.

You do not have to earn the right to be supported by appearing strong.

Mental health is health — at every level of functioning.

In the newest episode of The Practice, I opened a deeper conversation about the full spectrum of mental health — from silent suffering to moments when it becomes harder to hide.

Seeking professional support is not reserved for the breaking point, it should be something on everyone’s radar as an option and pathway to healing while learning how to manage challenging situations and symptoms .

It is part of being human.

And that silence is part of the problem. When you talk about what you struggle with, it will help you get through struggles with less pain and more support.

It also helps other people feel comfortable to talk about their own struggles. Talking is such a necessary outlet for getting through things , yet it is also so underutilized.

In the next episode of The Practice, I’m opening a more direct conversation about mental health — what it actually is, how common struggle really is, and why so many people suffer quietly.

Mental health is health.
And it deserves the same seriousness, compassion, and care.

This episode is a shift — and one many of you have been waiting for.

Mental health is health.
Just like physical health, it impacts how you function, connect, and feel in your everyday life.

Struggling isn’t a personal failure—it’s a human experience.
And support isn’t a last resort. It’s a way to reduce distress and improve quality of life.

If we can seek medical care without hesitation or judgment, our mental health deserves the same care and compassion.

✨ Save this. Share it. Let’s keep normalizing mental health care.

We don’t question physical health care.
It’s time we treat mental health the same way.
