IT’S TIME TO PUT THE BLACK AGENDA IN EDUCATION ON THE TABLE! Once again, it’s time for Black educators to come together, speak out, and take action. Across the country, Black educators and school leaders are facing increased scrutiny, investigations, and negative media attention. These experiences raise important questions about anti-Black racism, equity, accountability, and the treatment of Black professionals in education. WE CAN NO LONGER REMAIN SILENT! It’s time to TALK about it. It’s time to LIFT the issues. It’s time to STAND TOGETHER. And most importantly, it’s time to BE ABOUT IT! Join BE-U (Black Edfluencers-United) for our 7th Gathering of Black Educators as we bring together Black principals, teachers, parents, community leaders, and advocates to confront these issues and put forth a collective Black agenda for education. 📍 Black Spectrum Theatre Roy Wilkins Park, Queens, NY 🗓️ November 18, 2026 ⏰ 6:00 PM BLACK SCHOOL LEADERSHIP UNDER ATTACK Let’s talk about it. While several schools and educators are claiming hip-hop in education, let’s not forget the pioneer who laid the foundation for what we see happening today. The vision. The blueprint. The legacy. This movement didn’t start yesterday. I’m the nation’s Hip-Hop Principal. Congratulations to District 29Q. Your Back to School March was phenomenal. The smile on the children faces was priceless. It was an honor to be the Grand Marshall of such a beautiful event. by @dr.s.blake
🔥 BE-U SALUTES NYPS DISTRICT 27! 🔥 The way NYPS District 27 is prioritizing the implementation of the Black Studies Curriculum is a model for school districts throughout New York City. Black Studies is more than a curriculum—it is an opportunity for our students to understand who they are, where they come from, and the contributions they have made to the world. We applaud District 27 for moving beyond conversation and prioritizing implementation, action, and impact. This is how we move the Black Agenda in Education forward. BE-U We Serve Black Educators. Black Studies as the Study of the World continues to grow across @district27nyc ! Last year, we were proud to achieve 100% participation across our Rockaway and Broad Channel pilot schools—bringing meaningful learning experiences into classrooms that center identity, history, culture, contributions, and the interconnected stories that shape our world. This year, we’re building on that momentum and moving into our next phase: working toward 100% participation across all 50 District 27 schools! 🙌 This work is about more than adding lessons to a curriculum. It’s about ensuring our students have opportunities to see themselves and others reflected in what they learn, broaden their understanding of the world, and engage with history through multiple perspectives. We’re excited to continue this work alongside the Black Education Research Center and the incredible educators and partners helping bring it to life across our district. 🖤📚🌎 @berc_tc @drsonyadouglass @dr.s.blake @doechancellor @nycschools @sup_norment #nyc #queens #education #teacher #student by @dr.s.blake

Unity in support of our Haitian Brother and Sisters. by @dr.s.blake
Dr. Shango Blake lifts his voice in strong opposition to the Supreme Court’s decision to allow the removal of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) protections for Haitians. This decision threatens families, students, and communities who have contributed so much to our nation. As Black Americans, we cannot be silent when injustice impacts our brothers and sisters. Our struggles are connected, and our voices are stronger when we stand together. I encourage Black America to speak out, organize, and demand justice. An attack on one part of our community is an attack on us all. #StandWithHaiti #ProtectTPS #BlackSolidarity #JusticeForHaitians #BlackEdfluencersUnited BEU DrShangoBlake @dr.s.blake by @dr.s.blake
