3 years of sweat, tears, laughter, exhaustion, building a home away from home, with friends turned family. 3 years of residency passed by in the blink of an eye. As we await our results, I look back at our journey and it’s overwhelming to see how far we have all come.

Surreal. To almost be on the other side of it all. Surreal.

The last lap 🏃🏻‍♀️

We’re in the last 6 months of our residency and while time is passing like a kidney stone, these people make the pain a little more bearable 🫰🏼

Our college has announced that our exams are most likely to be held in December. We’re in the last leg of our thesis submission and publications for post grad. The pressure is building, but so is our ability to tackle anything thrown our way.

It’s been almost 18 months since I last sat in one place and made an attempt to study. Sitting still for more than 5 minutes seems nearly impossible at this point.

We started our District Residency Programme, where we get posted in a district hospital for 3 months, 1 week ago. This gives us some free time to work and study, because the shifts are divided among 8-9 residents. All of us have made a solemn vow to start working on our thesis, start studying, and get work done, making good use of the time we have. 🤞

With our midterm evaluation 6 days away, this was an honest to god 45 minute (seemed like 4 hours) attempt at studying.

I’ve planned for (hopefully) 3 more study sessions today, 45-15 pomodoro styles, except that after the first 45 minute session, I took an 80 minute break. 🥲

Here’s to better time management over the next 3 sessions for the day 💪🏻

Welcome to 10B. We’re all mad here.

It’s been almost 14 months into residency. More responsibility, more work, more reasons to worry, more reasons to smile and be grateful. What seemed familiar, now feels like it never was. Things that terrified me no longer seem as frightening. Things that worried me before, now seem so trivial, I wonder why I bothered in the first place. Letting go of some of the old, welcoming the new, and being grateful for everything in between.
