I didn’t get into pelvic health because it was trendy. I got into it because I was pissed off.

Doctors around town were telling my patients they couldn’t do stuff.

Meanwhile, I was a CrossFit athlete before I was ever a PT. My whole career is built on one belief: strong bodies can handle hard training, at every stage.

So when providers and coaches started telling my postpartum and pelvic patients to “listen to their body” and “take it easy” (code for don’t lift heavy, don’t go back to the sport you love) something didn’t add up.

The same athletes I’d help squat 300+ lbs were being told their pelvic floor couldn’t handle a 65# barbell thruster. So I went and looked at what the evidence actually said.

Turns out patients get one of two things: fear-based caution that treats every body like it’s fragile, or wellness noise with zero evidence behind it.

We can do better than that.

Women do not need permission to be strong. 💪

That’s the gap I built RCVR in. Swipe to hear the rest of my story.

Pregnancy isn’t where fitness stops. Come work with a crew who knows how to keep you at your strongest for the most athletic thing you’ll ever do! by @dr.shaeshar_dpt

Meet Dr. Shae Sharbutt, co-owner of RCVR Performance, doctor of physical therapy, and our personal vibe curator. Specializing in orthopedics and pelvic health, her schedule is well-rounded. Additionally, she is on faculty with @icephysio in the Pelvic Division- assisting other rehab providers learn how to treat in the pelvic health space.

When she isn’t treating patients in the clinic, she’s training in the CrossFit gym or hanging out with her husband, @sharkbyte_ooh_ha_ha and their two dogs.
She’s a college football fanatic, hot dog connoisseur, and loves to travel. by @dr.shaeshar_dpt

Even when you teach this stuff, you can still miss it…
I got tunnel vision on my objective findings: tight pelvic floor and hip weakness. I had a clear plan. Treating all of that was the right call. I just skipped a foundational question.

Plenty of ACL injuries happen late in a game, when you’re tired, your legs are cooked, and you’re still cutting, landing, and reacting. So why would we only test and train your knee when it’s well rested?

Here’s what we’re doing post-ACL reconstruction:
🔥 Fatigue the quads first
🏀 Then go straight into basketball-specific work: cuts, decels, landings, reactive drills

The goal isn’t to beat her up. The goal is to find out what her knee can do under real game conditions and build it there, so she shows up to the court ready and not just hoping.

Return to sport is more than a date on the calendar or a clean MRI. It’s a strong knee that holds up when it matters most.

You walk in hurting. Frustrated. Maybe you’ve already been told to “just rest” or been handed a sheet of generic exercises.

Here’s what actually happens at RCVR 👇

1️⃣ We start with YOU. Your goals, your training, your life, and what matters most to you.
2️⃣ We test, not guess. Pain tells us where it hurts. It doesn’t always tell us why. So we look at the strength and mobility of everything around it.
3️⃣ Then we get hands-on. Dry needling, manipulation, cupping, and skilled manual therapy, chosen for what YOUR body needs.
4️⃣ You move. More than you have in a while, and better.
5️⃣ You leave with a plan and real hope. Not a quick fix. Progress that lasts. by @dr.shaeshar_dpt

Now it’s your turn.

Wear your RCVR gear, post your workout, and tag us. We don’t care if it’s a PR, a pump session, or a 6am “I showed up” sweat. We want to see you train. by @dr.shaeshar_dpt

Most people think pelvic floor PT = kegels for postpartum moms.

Wrong. It’s for anyone with a pelvis and a goal.

Leaking when you jump, lift, or sneeze? Common. Not normal. Not something you just “live with.”
Pain with sex? Not something to push through.
Low back or hip pain that keeps coming back no matter how much you stretch? The pelvic floor might be the missing piece.
Pregnant and want to feel strong through delivery and back in the gym after? That’s a plan, not a hope.

Your pelvic floor is muscle. Muscle can be trained. And training it is a lot more than squeezing and holding.

At RCVR, you get a full hour 1:1 with a doctor of physical therapy who also lifts, trains, and gets it. We find the root cause, build a plan around YOUR goals, and get you back to doing what you love without the workarounds.

You don’t need permission to want more from your body. by @dr.shaeshar_dpt

“My life is so full. And I have so many things I wanna do and so many places in my life I wanna pour love into” by @dr.shaeshar_dpt

You don’t need a competition on the calendar to be our kind of patient.

Yes, we love our athletes. We ARE athletes. But the barbell crowd is only part of who walks through our doors.

Just last week we saw:

🤰 A mom getting her body ready for birth

🔨 A guy whose job is harder on his body than most workouts

🦵 A woman fresh off knee surgery

🏠 A weekend warrior who lost a fight with a home project

Different people, same approach. One-on-one for the full session. A plan built around YOUR life. And a provider who actually cares what you’re trying to get back to, whether that’s a podium, a job site, or picking up your kid without thinking twice.

And no, being out-of-network doesn’t mean we can’t see you post-op. We do it all the time, and we love being there from day one to better than before.
