SNETTERTON - 11/02

Starting our track year early this time with a visit to Snetterton Circuit, which is known to test a drivers ability to balance speed and control.

The track conditions on the day were 4 degrees and very greasy with light drizzle throughout. Coupled with semi slick tyres and the traction control off, this became a day of learning and understanding the raw balance of the car, as opposed to flat out speed.

I was joined by the usual team.
@swiftie.john and @rapmaster85

The first video is of a spin out on turn 3 (Palmer) whilst being 60 seconds into the track day.
The tyres were frozen reading just 6 degrees on the i-drive.
This was an immediate wake up call to start the day with!

The second video is at the top of turn one (Riches) where a twin downshift and the lightest of turn-ins induced a four wheel drift which was thankfully controlled.
(You can hear @swiftie.john feeling the madness.)

A shoutout to the marshals who observed me trying to put the power down whilst sliding most corners. No black flags issued. Thank you!

Unfortunately we were unable to really test the EBC brakes and Ventrax Motorsports brake cooling setup on this session.

The next track session will now be at the Nürburgring with @flashcars_uk and @saphoy_supercars in April.
(Unless @swiftie.john and I squeeze one in prior.)

You can only GO, as fast as you can STOP!

Brake performance is everything on track, but heat management is just as crucial.
The F82 M4 Competition’s factory braking system is extremely impressive, but extended sessions generate excessive heat, leading to fade and reduced stopping power.

To counter this, we’ve installed a @ventraxmotorsport 3D-printed brake cooling kit, designed in-house to optimize airflow and significantly lower brake temperatures.
This kit feeds cold air directly to the centre of the brake disc allowing the disc to cool from the centre outwards.

Ventrax Motorsport went above and beyond to manufacture and ship this kit asap, ensuring I had it in time for my upcoming @snettertonofficial track day next week.

Thank you to @r2automotive for accommodating a last minute booking and executing a flawless install.

With new BMW M brake discs, EBC brake pads and Motul brake fluid, it’s time to put the new setup to the test on track and see how much of a difference it makes!

Returning to the @nuerburgring after 9 years!

A couple of Uk track days led to @swiftie.john and I having a chat about the Green Hell.
A few weeks later, we found ourselves flat out on the autobahns.

Best of all, we’ll be back there next month with @insights_only with something epic to share on the channel!
