This is a reminder to myself: this was the end of one journey, graduating medical school and the beginning of another, starting Residency! However, Let me REINTRODUCE MYSELF:

Ahhhhh!!! , then I was Starting my journey as a resident physician. You are now looking at your NEWLY BOARD CERTIFIED FAMILY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN! I got my prelim results yall……. I PASSED!! #butGod 🙌🏾

I took the last standardized test (5/5 , that’s right!! 5 tests to prove you’re worth 😩) of my 9+ school year journey (excluding undergrad), 3 degrees later, I am now BOARD CERTIFIED!! Yall can’t tell me nothing!! 😝🥹 I’m officially apart of the 3%, representing the melanated physicians! 🥹

so many highs and so many lows! Many humbling moments, and many proud moments. And, As the ADA of a Nigerian🇳🇬 Igbo household, all these years with my many accomplishments, this is the first time I’ve pat myself on the back! 🫣We as a community have to do better! Nigerians never stop striving and appreciate the success. But That’s a conversation for another day. 😅

Losing my mother before medical school could have changed the trajectory of my life. Instead, I decided to keep going — even when it hurt, even when it was hard, even when I didn’t know exactly how I would get to the other side.

Every time I put on this white coat, I remember the girl who kept going.
