Some wonderful stories from Northeast India.

NorthEast India has suffered from years-long political and ethnic movements but we hardly hear people talking about them, now may be more than before but still very less, atleast from where I am ( North India ) I don't see alot of of popular mainstream media highlighting issues for this part of country so it's important we take the responsibility of educating ourselves on such issues. Thangjam Manorama 2004 incident, I learnt about it a couple of years ago and it shook me for the brutality of it but also that why didn't I hear about it earlier, how come it never made the news like the incidents of similar parameters, so I took it upon myself to try and read and know more about NE, and these are some books that I have personally loved and I hope you'd give them a read.

This month's TBR is a little chaotic... and I wouldn't have it any other way. 📚✨

A productivity classic, an emotional literary masterpiece, a controversial thriller, and one of the greatest works ever written.

📖 Human Acts
📖 Verity
📖 The Divine Comedy

If Studio Ghibli were a bookshelf, this would be it. 🌿📚

Japanese healing fiction isn't about epic adventures or shocking plot twists—it's about ordinary people, quiet cafés, cozy bookshops, rainy afternoons, kind strangers, and finding hope in the smallest moments.

These books feel like a warm cup of tea after a long day. If you're looking for comfort, softness, and stories that leave you feeling lighter than when you started, this is your sign to pick one up.

Which one would you read first? 🍵✨

Here's my list
The Lantern of Lost Memories
Before the Coffee Gets Cold
Hot Chocolate on Thursday
Days at the Morisaki Bookshop
What You Are Looking For Is in the Library
The Blanket Cats
Sweet Bean Paste
Meet Me at the Convenience Store
The Travelling Cat Chronicles

This book in one sentence :

A philosophy textbook disguised as a mystery novel about a girl discovering what it means to be real

Sophie's World

A 14-year-old girl starts receiving mysterious letters asking questions like, "Who are you?" and "Where does the world come from?"

What follows is part mystery novel, part philosophy lesson, as she explores the ideas of thinkers from Socrates to Sartre. But there's also a twist: Sophie begins to question whether she's even real.

Part coming-of-age story, part philosophy lesson, this book somehow makes centuries of big ideas feel approachable and surprisingly fun. It asks simple questions with impossibly complex answers: Who are we? Why are we here? What is reality?
It's not a fast-paced read, but if you enjoy philosophy and slow books that make you pause, think, and look at the world a little differently, it's absolutely worth picking up.

Think: philosophy class meets a mystery novel. ✨ by @dr_ficticity
