One bad night’s sleep and suddenly you’re a completely different person. A heartbreaking update has emerged in the case of missing mum Joanne Sheen, who disappeared in December 2019.

For almost 7 years, her family have been waiting for answers. Human remains discovered in woodland in Feltham, south-west London, after a wildfire in August 2026 have now been identified as Joanne.

The mum-of-three was last seen travelling from Fareham to Southampton with a friend, sparking a major investigation that saw police follow thousands of lines of inquiry and carry out extensive searches.

A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, while detectives continue working to understand exactly what happened.

Our thoughts are with Joanne’s family and everyone affected by this heartbreaking case.

Extremely painful periods are not something you should simply be expected to put up with.

Period pain is common, but severe period pain that stops you working, going to school, sleeping, exercising or living your everyday life deserves to be taken seriously.

Could it be endometriosis? Could it be adenomyosis? Could something else be causing your painful periods?

Endometriosis symptoms can vary from person to person, but severe pelvic pain, painful periods, pain during or after sex, pain when going to the toilet, fatigue and difficulty getting pregnant can all be associated with the condition. Other gynaecological conditions can cause similar symptoms, which is why getting medical advice matters.

If your period pain is difficult to manage or interfering with your everyday life, speak to your GP and explain exactly how your symptoms are affecting you.
