It is with heartbreaking sadness to bring the news today of the passing of Jodene’s sister, Janel, after a lengthy and courageous battle. She was the light to so many candles, the most caring and thoughtful sister, the mother to 4 glorious daughters and the perfect pairing with her fabulous husband. You will leave holes in many hearts. Our final day covered all the sites in Paris, and required 13.4 miles of walking. Napoleon’s monument, Sacre Cours, L’Arc de Triomphe and of course the tower. Amazing site and stunning up close. Got there too late to climb it! The day culminated in a River dinner cruise and the tower did not disappoint! One more post with food only… taken in Paris, France by @dr_markpt

Last part of the trip was 2 days in Paris. What a wonderful city with tremendous food and plenty of walking to be done. 1st day was Notre Dame and the pantheon. Fabulous crepes and dinner at Ostera where the server was the standout performer! What a great city! taken in Paris, France by @dr_markpt

After Cannes, it was a great drive toward Lyon to a most wonderful wine region, Châteauneuf-du-Pape! What a remarkable region and the tasting was phenomenal! We then went onto Frenchies hometown Beausemblant for some R and R and and it really was all that. Included a video of the dessert cart to finish the most amazing meal at a local restaurant. We leave Milan and Italy and head to France, with the 1st stop in the South of France. Cannes was the hub and we explored Antibes and the small walled mountain town of St Paul de Vence. What a find! Major artist community and so vibrant. taken in Cannes by @dr_markpt

Final day in Milan, set for the Paralympic Sled Hockey finals! After a stroll thru the city for a delish lunch, found St Mark’s basilica, past a protest, and a minor timing issue, it was over the the rink. And what a game! Destroyed Canada after they scored 1st but the team put into gear and rolled. Never sang the National Anthem so loud! And what and after party. Day 2 in Milan, we took a walking tour with Lara, an absolute wealth of knowledge of the city and sites. Last Supper details really made this part of the tour stand out, Duomo interior is as spectacular as the exterior. We then found the best panini shop! Delish! And they supply snacks galore when you order Aperol Spitz or Negroni or any drink at the local cafes. Decadent! taken in Santa Maria delle Grazie by @dr_markpt

Next it was into Milan for the Paralympic Games with our focus on Noah Grove and the US Team. 1st, a walk through the city to the Duomo and Gallerie. Then, the semifinal game: Noah scores! Onto the finals… taken in Milan, Italy by @dr_markpt

Tuesday we took a train to Como and then traveled to Bellagio as our next stop. Beautiful, even on an overcast day. Met up with friends, had a fabulous stay and great food. No George Clooney sightings, however… taken in Como, Italy by @dr_markpt
