“Groin pain without a cause?” Think again!
For many athletes, chronic groin pain isn’t just a nagging discomfort || It can be a career-ending injury

🔎 Key clinical features:
• Deep, persistent groin pain that worsens with twisting, sprinting, or kicking
• Overlap with adductor strains, hip and lower back issues
• Often vague, making it easy to dismiss or mislabel

⚠️ The diagnostic challenge:
Sports hernia (athletic pubalgia) hides in plain sight. MRI is often essential to uncover the subtle tissue disruptions driving the pain.

💡 Why it matters:
Delayed recognition can sideline athletes for months, or end careers altogether.

🪡 The role of laparoscopic repair:
Evidence shows laparoscopic surgery offers superior outcomes compared to physiotherapy alone, helping athletes return to peak performance. But success requires a multidisciplinary team—surgeons, orthopedic specialists, physiotherapists, etc working together to solve the puzzle.
