I used to use DraftedAI when it was still a web based tool, so I was curious to see how it would work inside Revit.

You can basically:

→ Draw your footprint
→ Add the rooms you need
→ Get 5 different floor plans in under a minute
→ Edit everything directly in Revit
→ Get 3D views, elevations, area plans and sheets
→ Generate again if you want to try another direction

The nice part is that the layouts come in as actual editable Revit elements, not just images.

Pretty useful when you want to explore a few options before committing to a layout. by @draftedai

The friction between thought and a design tool can kill the idea itself.

As architects, we often start with a simple thought:

What if I move this wall?
What if the circulation worked this way?
What if I tried a completely different layout?

But then comes the friction of opening CAD, setting up the drawing, drawing walls, editing dimensions, and rebuilding the same thing every time we want to explore another option.

And suddenly, we’re spending more time drafting the idea than developing it.

That’s what I like about using Drafted AI.

I can start where I naturally think, with a sketch, and turn that idea into a workable floor plan in seconds.

Then I can move walls, edit spaces, explore options, switch to 3D and see the changes happen live.

And when the design is ready to move forward, I can export it into my regular CAD/BIM workflow.

The goal isn’t to replace the architect.
It’s to remove the friction between an idea and its exploration.

Because the faster you can test an idea, the more ideas you can explore.

And sometimes, the best design is the one you wouldn’t have had time to try.
