Nobody was more convinced than me that I couldn’t get sober.

I genuinely believed addiction had won. I thought this was just who I was, that I’d gone too far and there was no way back.

I was so fucking wrong.

Turns out, I wasn’t incapable of changing — I just hadn’t discovered how strong I could become yet.

One day became a week. A week became a month. And slowly, the life I thought was impossible became the life I’m living.

So if you’re sitting there thinking, “I could never do it…”

Neither could I.

Until I did. #sober taken in London, United Kingdom by @dragonfly_decorating

We gave this golf simulator room a complete makeover, creating a dark, atmospheric finish that works perfectly with the warm lighting and makes the simulator screen the real focal point of the space.

A huge thank you to @caparoluk for collaborating with us and supplying the paint for this one. The finish and depth of colour couldn’t have suited the space better.

From prep through to the final coat, it’s great to see the whole room come together.

Let us know what you think in the comments👇🏻

Five years ago, I didn’t even know if I was going to make it.

I was fighting battles nobody could see, trapped in addiction, losing myself a little more every single day. There were moments when I genuinely couldn’t see a future for myself.

But somehow, I kept going.

Today, I’m 19 months clean and sober, and I’m becoming the person I once thought I’d never get the chance to be.

Healthy. Present. Grateful. Driven. At peace.

I didn’t just get my life back — I built a completely new one.

So whenever I start worrying about how far I still have to go, I remind myself how far I’ve already fucking come.

Because if five years ago I couldn’t imagine the life I have today…

Imagine where I could be five years from now.

Keep going. Your future self is waiting for you. #addictionrecovery #addiction #sober #mentalhealth #reels taken in United Kingdom by @dragonfly_decorating

Back at our Hastings project and it’s all in the prep 👌🏻

We’re getting the walls filled and imperfections sorted, ready to be sanded down before the painting begins.

A quality finish starts long before the first coat goes on, putting the work in now to make sure the end result is spot on.

It’s all in the prep 👌🏼

A little look at the process before the transformation…

Flooring fully protected, door frames sanded, walls prepped and sanded, followed by a specialist stain-blocking paint to stop any existing marks and mould staining from bleeding back through the finished paintwork.

Not always the most glamorous part of the job, but proper preparation is what makes the difference to the final finish.

Next up… the full reveal keep your eyes peeled 👀

I’ve been through things in life that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Things that broke me, changed me and forced me to grow in ways I never wanted to.

But now I look at my son and realise that maybe some of those experiences taught me something I can pass on to him.

I’m teaching him that courage isn’t about always doing what feels easy. Sometimes being brave means doing the things we don’t want to do. Facing the things that scare us. Getting back up when we’d rather stay down. Trying again when we feel like giving up.

Because every time we push through something uncomfortable, we become a little stronger. A little braver. A little more capable of facing whatever life puts in front of us.

I can’t protect my son from every difficult experience in life… but I can teach him how to face them.

And if my past can help give him the strength I once wished I had, then maybe none of it was for nothing. #proud #myboy #strong #confidence #reels taken in Hastings, East Sussex by @dragonfly_decorating
