The people cried out: “GIVE US FLUMIES!” So we gave them gong mallets- so many gong mallets. “FLUMIES!” they still demanded. So we made many singing bowl mallets. “WE ARE NOT SATED. ONLY FLUMIES WILL SLAKE OUR THIRST” Fine. We’re making flumies. We think they’re cool and different. Still testing and refining. But stay tuned. #friction #flumies #gongs #mallets #dragonflypercussion by @dragonfly_percussion

A new chapter begins.

I’m very happy to share that I have officially joined @dragonfly_percussion as a Dragonfly Artist.

This first package brings new beaters, materials and sound possibilities that I will explore through orchestral repertoire, teaching and future demonstrations.

For me, choosing a beater is never simply about finding a softer or harder option. Its material, weight and construction influence the articulation, resonance and color of the instrument.

Thank you to Dinesh and the Dragonfly Percussion team for this generous package and such a warm welcome.

The unboxing is only the beginning. I’m looking forward to showing you how these different tools respond in a real musical context.

This equipment was gifted by Dragonfly Percussion, with no obligation to post.

Which one would you like to hear first?

Follow @lisepercussion for orchestral percussion and sound-focused pedagogy.

If you need a luxury watch to prove you’re successful, you’re probably not.

Charlie Munger called envy one of the biggest financial traps.

A Gong doesn’t make you richer.
It doesn’t make you more important.
It doesn’t impress everyone.

You buy it because you actually want it.

That’s the difference.

These are @mike_tamburo ‘s secret favorite little mallets- the “Hard-Core” and “Soft-Core”. Designed for playing bell plates. But they’re also amazing little gong mallets. They’re like mini version of our Steel-Core Tam mallet. Much heavier than their small stature betrays. Clear and punchy, but amazingly full-bodied. To add them to our catalog or not to add them? … that is the question. #steelcore #bellplates #gongs #mallets #dragonflypercussion by @dragonfly_percussion

Our “Classical” Timpani sticks are back in stock after a brief hiatus and substantial redesign. These sticks are one step fuller and warmer than our “Baroque” sticks. But still super light, bright and clear. Perfect for Haydn and Mozart- especially those tricky Menuetto movements where a little more blend is needed. Get em on our website or at your favorite retailer. #timpani #mallets #classical #dragonflypercussion by @dragonfly_percussion
