Hello all of my mythical creatures and my Hanfu family! I know it has been a while since I’ve been like active, active but I just want to speak to some people that have been DM me on IG and on Rednote. I want to say that for the women and men that are of color don’t be afraid to try anything I know I’ve been getting messages like ‘oh you inspire me’ and ‘I love how you appreciate our our culture’, etc. but also there are messages like ‘oh I don’t get good Hanfu’ or ‘where can I find it’ or ‘you know I see these white women and light skinned that people get more likes etc.’ and I just wanna say, if you have a passion for this it’s not gonna matter the number of people some people will get likes, etc. based off of skin tones only the color and behind closed doors, they have no real passion for it and that’s the truth. It’s good to do some cultural digging into, to understand Hanfu and if you want to do Wuxia, which is like a fantasy version, which is what I lean mostly to because you have a bit more freedom of expression than straight like historical. Do it! Wear it! you put in your sense of style, as long as the historical part is respectful but when it comes to fantasy, I mean the sky is the limit and I wish some sometime I could take my own advice and just do it. 😆 but you know I had to cut off social media often, in order to find my own style in freedom of what I want to express and not focus on what everybody else is doing because everybody else aren’t you and you aren’t them and you wanna step out. You never know where your passion is going to lead you. It does not matter as long as you see it in front of you. It’s yours and this is how my magical dragon empress, came to life more this year.
