💉 Yeh 5 baatein har parent ko flu vaccine ke baare mei pata honi chahiye

Pehli baar flu shot? 2 doses, 4 hafte ke gap par. Sirf 1 dose se bachcha poori tarah covered nahi hota.
📅 Pehle lag chuka hai? Toh 5 saal tak har saal sirf 1 shot.
❄️ Flu ka peak north india mei December se February tak. Abhi lagwane ka sahi time hai!
⏳ Immunity banne mein lagbhag 2 hafte lagte hain, isliye wait mat kijiye.
🤒 Flu shot jaadu nahi hai. Yeh influenza se bachata hai, har cough-cold se nahi.

Some victories in the NICU are quiet ones 🤍

No balloons, no big announcements. Just a tiny chest rising and falling on its own, for the first time in days.

Coming off the ventilator is one of the biggest milestones a NICU baby can reach. It means those little lungs are getting stronger, and that every hour of care, every alarm answered at 3 a.m., and every prayer from parents waiting outside the door has been worth it.

As a neonatologist, I’ve seen this moment many times. As a mother, it still gets me every single time.

To every NICU parent reading this: your baby is stronger than you think, and so are you. One breath, one day at a time 🫶

#AD Baby skin isn’t just “smaller” adult skin. It’s more delicate, loses moisture faster and can get irritated more easily. That’s why a simple, gentle routine can make a big difference. 🤍

A few everyday baby skincare basics I always recommend:

• Moisturise within a few minutes after the bath, while the skin is still slightly damp.
• Use a gentle face cream separately, especially when the cheeks feel dry or irritated.
• Keep the routine simple and avoid using too many products at once.

For everyday care, you can use use Baby Sebamed Body Lotion to help keep the skin moisturised, and Protective Facial Cream for delicate facial skin. Both are formulated with ideal pH 5.5, close to the natural pH of healthy skin, and absorb easily without leaving the skin feeling greasy.

And remember, less is more when it comes to baby skincare. Patch test any new product first, and if you notice persistent redness, roughness, oozing or intense itching, it’s best to get it checked by a paediatrician or dermatologist.

If your child is struggling to breathe, you can often see it before they can tell you.

Here are 4 signs of breathing difficulty every parent must know:
1. 🫁 Chest Pulling In (Retractions): Check the lower chest below the ribs, between the ribs, or around the base of the neck to see if it pulls deeply inward when breathing in.
2. 👃 Nasal Flaring: Watch if the nostrils widen every time the child inhales, showing extra effort to pull in air.
3. 🔊 Grunting: Listen for a subtle sound during exhalation, which is distinct from crying or coughing.
4. 👶 Head Bobbing: Look for the baby’s head nodding or bobbing with each breath as neck muscles work harder.

While counting breaths helps, any visible struggle to breathe is a medical emergency requiring urgent care 🚨

A few things I want every parent to remember:
→ Breast budding is usually the FIRST sign, not periods
→ 2-3 years between budding and periods is completely normal
→ If things start much earlier (before 8) or haven’t started by 13-14, that’s when we talk

Knowing what’s normal takes away so much of the panic — for you and for her.

Save this for when you need it. Share it with a mom who’s stressing about “why hasn’t she started yet” or “why has she started so early.”
