This patient came in with a fractured bridge and molar decay, hoping to avoid extraction. Given the premolar’s favorable root length, we chose to preserve it - performing crown lengthening and a vertical preparation technique to secure proper ferrule. Finally! I’m proud and happy to share that I’ve been accepted into the national specialist training program in Prosthodontics in Uppsala, Sweden 🎓🦷 Prosthodontics has been such a defining part of my dental journey, and I can’t wait to begin this next chapter this September. It’s a privilege to dive even deeper into a field I’m so passionate about. Before I look ahead, I want to look back with gratitude too. Thank you UAE, for 3.5 unforgettable years. Emergency fracture, deep palatal extension. The kind of case where extraction + implant is the ”safe” answer. Patient wanted to save the tooth - fully informed of the guarded long-term prognosis. We proceeded. Endo completed by @vidaltudela . Minor bone and gingival recontouring to regain 1.5-2 mm ferrule (Juloski et al.). Crown delivered 4 days after preparation due to travel - not my preference, but I stayed hands-on with the technician on margin placement. Referred post-orthodontics | Adhesive Maryland Bridge + Composite Reshaping This patient was referred following the completion of orthodontic treatment, presenting with a congenitally missing lateral incisor. Given the patient’s age, implant placement was contraindicated - skeletal maturity is essential before considering an implant in this position. With a time-sensitive life event on the horizon, we worked within a defined window. Following professional whitening, I placed a single-wing bonded Maryland bridge to restore the missing lateral - a conservative, reversible, and aesthetically effective interim solution. To achieve better anterior symmetry, the contralateral peg lateral was reshaped with direct composite. Chipped central incisor. Previous composite bonding (not by me) hadn’t met the patient’s expectations - so we took a different approach. Patient did not want a new composite. A minimally prepped feldspathic veneer was chosen to preserve as much tooth structure as possible while delivering a more durable and aesthetic result. Before any preparation, lateral and protrusive movements were carefully analysed and all occlusal interferences eliminated. Protecting the ceramic from off-axis loading is non-negotiable for long-term survival. Try-in under rubber dam isolation - and the image speaks for itself.
