Might not be the most aesthetic message, but it’s backed by science 😉 And apparently it’s a good substitute for dairy 😄Listen, if you are getting a ton of messages on social media and you want to know what actually works you’ve got me. THIS is what I’m here for— I am trying to take the complicated science and bringing it to you in a very simple way. Something like arugula or bitter greens are really great to eat before meal because it stimulates your bitter taste receptors in your mouth as well as your G.I. tract starts your digestive juices and can help with digestion. Also, another reason I recommend eating arugula before meals is because there are many studies that show that eating greens (and protein) before your carbs can be beneficial in many ways for your blood sugar. So eat up ! by @dramyshah

She knows what I am going to say 💡 I don’t think most people realize that there’s a link between these tests and longevity. Meaning that your ability to get up off the floor is an independent protector of your health. If you can’t do a full push-up start from your knees. If you can’t stand with one leg, then use the wall to learn how to balance. I love yoga classes because a lot of these things are already incorporated into the class. If you’re overwhelmed with the recommendations for aging, don’t worry I have got your back. I’m constantly trying to think of things to help you, things that are actionable and high impact. Thank you for your interest. by @dramyshah

The fact that society tells us we should even want all these things AND all at the same time —is a problem UNSUBCRIBEWhen I started my medical practice and I had two little kids, I had to make some decisions— and let’s just say everyone else did NOT always agree with it or think I was doing a good job.I decided my priorities were my relationships, the health of my body and mind, and spending time with my children — everything else went to the back of the line. I definitely got criticism for my decision BUT I continue to lean into this — the more I understand about women health, the more I know that you have to pick what you want/need and forget the rest. The health of your mind and body is the non-negotiable but everything else is up to you. Focus on what bills, your health minded body and what you actually want/need will become clear. by @dramyshah

Even though this is not my typical content, this is so pertinent to us to live healthy, free lives. We need to know this type of thing is happening all the time and what we would do in this scenario so that we can stop it. Thank God, she handled it well and we talked about what she could’ve done better and we also informed the police in the area. This is exactly why I feel so strongly about helping women with their health and mindset and lives because we have very difficult lives and we have to deal with things that are very specific to us in our lives.Hope you can share this information with someone that you care about. by @dramyshah

No, that is not a typo. 88% 👀What does that mean? Well, that’s why you have me. I not only read the study but did some research on how to achieve this as a normal person living in today’s society If you have measured your VO2 max or you have some kind of device like a whoop or peloton to get an estimate you should be aiming for higher than average VO2 max. Here’s some rough guesstimate for you so you can get an idea.Age 40–49: 35.0 is the 75th percentile; above that is top-quartile, and ~43.5 is the 95th percentile Age 50–59: 32.5 is the 75th percentile; ~41 is the 95th Age 60–69: 28.5 is the 75th percentile; ~36.8 is the 95th My goal this year is to really get this to over the 95th percentile for my age.I share this with you because I want to make the science actionable for you. At least we have a specific science backed goal rather than just kind of scattered information. And if you enjoy science back information about gut health, nutrition, women’s health, and want it to be broken down into real actionable steps based on the research follow me @dramyshah by @dramyshah

The things that are considered “boring” actually make you bulletproof as you age.And by the way, boring is in quotes because you can still be fun, laugh, be silly — I put it in quotes because society might think of it in that way. by @dramyshah
