happy new book birthday @hhansman!

I was so fortunate to meet Heather a few years ago & we obviously connected on our shared admiration of Dolores La Chapelle. It was so fun to nerd out with her about "Deep Powder Snow" and the stories of women like Dolores that were needing to be told. (swipe for some of my favorite Dolores inspirations. . . )

So imagine my excitement when she reached out for an early copy of Fierce Country -- I have been devouring it ever since & am so stoked to see it out in our world - a MUST read.

AHH OOH AYY! We’re officially living on river-time from here on-out. 🙃

✨here’s to more magical nights under the stars✨

Rio Chama LVDYMOB WE LOVE YOU! River trip #2 of the summer was absolutely phenomenal. This inspiring crew all paddled 21 miles in kayaks down the Rio Chama together. With the water levels super low due to a very dry winter, we knew this trip would be different. Stoke levels stayed extra high and it turned into a big game of bumper boats as we scooched our way through the canyon. Belly laughs bouncing off the walls, birds around every bend singing along with songs old and new (multiple bald eagle and GBH sightings 🦅🤩), communing with Mother Earth and deepening in this community. What a gift!

Shoutout to our girl @drawingfromnature who snapped these sweet photos and sketched our little river life every day. We’re so grateful for you.

I'm so grateful for these two inviting me & helping me get back to connecting with nature. This was my first ever river camp trip (believe it!) and I'm just still floating on all the joy and connection from spending some quality time outside with good pals.

@aub.lane and @kathleenhooper - you two are MAGIC, I'm so SO thankful to live creatively with you both 💛

OOOH and there's definitely more art to come from this trip, stay tuned!

Last August was really tough - I was told my dream job of designing skis & boards was ending, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with breast cancer, and then I was hit by a car (no joke).

Since then, @yogurecki and I have shared many cries, "my body hurts" texts, and wonderings about where we want to move forward. Looking back at all the connections to friends, getting outside, and art we had with @coalitionsnow, it only made sense to keep that flow going.

Which led us to @letsget_farout - a space for folks who are also curious & creative - who crave real adventure, genuine connection, and the radical act of slowing down (something we've been embracing, even if learning the hard way).

Far Out's Website is officially LIVE and there's lots for everyone. Original artworks for sale, handmade goods available by creatives we love, guided international trips, and an upcoming Fall Retreat (you guessed it, taught by me!)

I'd really appreciate if you gave it a look & maybe even come join us for a creative trip. My mission in life is to share creativity and help EVERYONE find their creative light (hello, why I'm an art teacher) - grateful for @yogurecki for creating even more spaces outside of the classroom for me to share that with.

Oh there will be more, stay tuned.

Happy June!

I've been playing around a ton lately in my studio/discovering new ways to think of drawings and honestly not caring that much about sharing on social media.

Making and sharing the work with my friends is always the point.
