A lil soft launch/prep for @k0.za ‘s July Bug Week 2026! This year I am not only making a picture, but also a slightly longer making-of reel, and an even longer YouTube video showing the whole process and planning / figuring the picture out / printing each prompt! 🙂‍↕️🪲

The YouTube videos are nice and cosy, something to have on while you create or just to relax with each day!

Is that a lot of effort? Yes it is. Did I have fun making it all? Yes!

A new neighbour just arrived! I think their name is Toppy and while I don’t know much about them yet, I feel like they have something to do with books and building things…perhaps some sort of librarian?

I spotted an interesting shape in my kitchen sink, and quickly gave them some limbs and an outline on an Instagram story just now, and there they were!

You can tell they are from the same world as fluffy bird because they also have five shapes on their head and insanely long legs and flappy feet!

Hello! It’s been a while since I posted (to the grid at least) so here’s a few things!

It’s been a busy summer so far, going for a cute weekend away with friends, celebrating the wedding of two friends, having a birthday, and generally living life and feeling grateful that I get to live at all 🫧

I started a patreon, after many years of wanting to, and I’m really enjoying it so far! You can join it for free, or if you want to see everything I post the lowest tier (sketchbook snoopers) is £2 a month, which is cheaper than almost everything I can think of. There’s a zine club tier which is a few pounds more but you get a handmade zine mailed to you every month, featuring parts of my sketchbook! I’ve just finished the first one and it’s very, very cute! 🙂‍↕️

The first picture is fluffy bird taking the zine to the postbox, the second picture is the sketchbook snoopers looking in awe at every single page of my sketchbooks, along with other things life life drawing pieces and videos/eventually a monthly q&a podcast too!

Picture three is a shadow I saw out in the wild! If you’re a story watcher, you’ll know that I’ve been playing the long shadow game for years, and yet this was the first wild and free shadow I’ve captured on my walks. What a thing of beauty!

Picture four is a very large manicule I drew after enjoying looking at loads of vintage designs. It was a real pleasure to draw and the paper went very crinkly afterwards due to the amount of ink the posca mopr uses! Lovely!

Picture five is me in the reference library in Manchester central library. I love digging into the old books and finding beautiful covers and special things (another story game I’ve been playing for ages)

Video six is a couple of pages I drew while sat in the park one lunchtime. I love the primary school colours represented in this video!! ❤️💛💚💙

Picture seven is a very large lil guy

Picture eight is a box of joy and color that I’ve not opened for a while! I use this paper when packing up my nerdy skull enamel pins (when someone lovely buys one!)

Picture nine is a gorgeous old photo of my rainbow skull stickers! You can find these and so much more on my website!
