POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Hi friends,

More hands on deck are needed. If anyone is able to spare 30 minutes a week to help Dill & Team Dill with some basic admin, it would be such a huge help. More details on the types of tasks involved can be found in the slides.

Please feel free to share with anyone you think might be able to help, and please engage with this post to help get it seen by more people. Any additional help would make a big difference.

Many thanks for your continued support with the fundraiser, it means such a lot.

❤️

Dill is a beloved disability justice activist, poet, painter, writer and dedicated community organiser from Leeds. Since 2018 they have been living with Severe ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) a chronic condition that causes life-limiting fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and affects their ability to communicate. Severe M.E causes Dill to have very complex needs.

In 2024, the community successfully raised money for Dill to access specialist healthcare and private advocacy services. This enabled Dill’s access to life saving expertise at extremely critical points in their health journey for the last 2 years, such as during their traumatic, 13 month hospital admission. With the help of their mother, advocates, and the community, Dill was discharged from hospital in September 2025.

Sadly, after discharge, Dill’s health once again dangerously deteriorated. They continue to use their extremely limited energy to advocate for themselves, and try to manage their healthcare needs with support from their friends. They have not had consistent access to appropriate, professional healthcare advocacy, which has strained their health immensely. This means Dill is forced to push past their safe energy limits to manage essential services on their own.

Therefore, in recent months, Dill used the remainder of the funds raised in 2024 to access professional advocate support again. Professional advocacy has made some small improvements to Dill’s health possible & access to this is vital to sustain and build upon what we have all waited so long for, which is why we are fundraising now.

The success of this fundraiser will ensure Dill continues to have access to healthcare specialists and advocacy through a professional service, with more expertise and capacity than Dill’s friends are able to offer. Ensuring they continue to have consistent support will help them to rest and pace, as well as focus on their rehabilitation & psychological goals.

Ultimately, we hope that continued access to advocacy will stabilise Dill’s health & ensure their care continues to safely meet their needs. Every donation brings Dill one step closer to rehabilitation & a better quality of life.

❤️ ID below Slide 1: Help Dill access lifesaving advocacy

Dill has Severe M.E and very complex health needs. They require a professional advocate with the expertise and capacity to support them with:
• Communicating their views and advocating for them
• Understanding and remembering information
• Accessing and navigating essential health, social care and support services

Donate to protect Dill’s health so they can continue making progress.

“Online is not a traditional resting space. But our bodies are not traditional either.”

In the latest On Rest Substack, Drawn Poorly founder Rosie Sergent (@Drawnpoorlyzine) explores the importance of online spaces and virtual friendships in the crip community. Feeling very grateful to be connected with you all amongst the hellscape.

Available here and via the link in bio.

Founded in 2017 by Rosie Sergent, Drawn Poorly is a collaborative DIY zine project exploring chronic illness, neurodivergence, disability, and mental health. Created from a want for connection amongst ill and disabled communities, it has grown into a space where we tell our stories in our own words - not as they’re told about us.

Image One: A zine front cover titled “Collective Rest” with black and white striped borders. The cover features a bed with a blue blanket and red throw, a pixelated grey cat (Pusheen), a pink pixel heart, and star stickers.

Image Two: A two-page spread of the zine with striped borders.

The left page has the Resting Up Collective logo and text “Love and thanks to Resting Up Collective who commissioned this zine. @RestingUpCollective_”

The right page has a large plant image behind the text. The text reads “Our collective rest. Exists in people virtually met, connection rooted in the core.”

Image Three: A two-page spread with striped borders.

The left page has two planet images and star stickers. The text reads “A shared nod that can’t be seen across cities, countries, the world.”

The right page has text reading “But you can really, really, really feel it,” over a red heart, next to a seated astronaut collage.

Image Four: A two-page spread of the zine with striped borders.

The left page has a classic meme of Robert Redford nodding in agreement. The text reads “It might be in the GIF you’ve just been sent.”

The right page has an image of two deer ornaments in front of a red flower. The text reads “Or the mutual outbreath at not having to explain yourselves.”

ME Awareness Month is coming to an end, but support and advocacy must continue.

ME is one of the most under served conditions and many of those living with it are made even sicker by having to advocate for themselves.

This zine is a is a preview of a collab with Nafas🫶. As a longtime fan of their work, it was really great to do this.

Nafas is a disabled illustrator and poet currently stuck in bed with Very Severe Me and Long Covid. Follow and support their work @lovenrageillustrations

The full zine is available through their Ko-fi and is included in a bundle of their work for this month’s subscribers.
