The peacock has a special significance in Moroccan culture. It reflects hospitality, elegance, and prosperity. More than just a beautiful bird, it is considered a symbol of beauty, luxury, and good fortune. For this reason, peacock motifs are often found in traditional Moroccan homes, especially in decorative objects and artwork. The traditional peacock plate, known as Tebsil Taous, has become an iconic piece of Moroccan craftsmanship. Interestingly, these dishes did not start in Morocco. They originated centuries ago as Japanese Imari porcelain. which was inspired by Chinese decorative traditions. The original designs featured the Fenghuang, a mythical Chinese phoenix. Because this legendary bird was unfamiliar in North Africa, Moroccan families gradually reinterpreted it as a peacock. Over time, Moroccan artisans embraced it and transformed it into a unique element of Moroccan ceramic art. Today, these decorative plates are proudly displayed in homes, often placed behind glass cabinets for a special occasion where it is used to serve traditional Moroccan dishes. In this painting, I wanted to show the deep connection between Moroccan heritage and family traditions. The peacock held by the mother, symbolizes the pride of preserving Moroccan culture and passing it down from one generation to the next. It also represents warmth, hospitality, and the values that are shared within the family By embracing the bird, the mother becomes a symbol of protection not only of her child, but also of the cultural legacy entrusted to her. Through this painting, I wanted to honor Moroccan women and their essential role in keeping traditions alive while inspiring future generations to cherish their heritage. I began my digital art journey in 2018 with Ai my favorite art tool at the time. Back then, I was still figuring things out and experimenting different art styles. Over the past seven years, I’ve created +100 artworks in various styles- original characters, Ghibli fanart and characters from other creators in my style However, one thing always bothered me: My profile lacked cohesion. It felt random, without a consistent theme or style, and that often confused my audience. Every time I posted something new, I noticed a drop in followers. So I decided to make a change, I created a separate account just for Ghibli fanart, and started organizing my main account with more intention As I continued growing I experimented with other tools-moving from Ai to CSP and I enjoyed creating more with CSP, but I missed Ai for its vector capabilities. Wait! Did you think I was talking about Ai (Artificial Intelligence)? No dear I was talking about Adobe illustrator. Later, I tried the new @adobefresco, and it reminded me so much of the old Adobe draw, android version of Illustrator.
