Doctors opening and owning their own medical practice is a dying breed. And I think we are asking the wrong question!! Instead of asking how do we stop medical practices from selling their practices? We should be asking, why are medical practices being forced to sell in the first place. The landscape for running a medical practice that has been created by our politicians through increased regulatory burdens, powerful hospital systems, and greedy insurance companies have made physician ownership in healthcare almost impossible. So don’t stop the conversation with private equity. Private equity only comprises 6.5% of medical practice ownership. Focus on how we can keep physicians in charge of healthcare!! And ask, why are doctors needing to sell in the first place!! by @drbrettmueller

The problem in ophthalmology, and lasik eye surgery, is not a shortage of technology. It’s the fear people have about getting eye surgery. And the way we have marketed ourselves has only made it worse. As a result, patients have just accepted what they have, and state that living with glasses and contacts is fine. This is what we call the slow surrender. @mueller_vision our enemy is the word FINE. Our goal is to listen and turn your fear into trust, and then that trust into gratitude. When you are rdy, we will listen first. See Clearly, live fully @mueller_vision!! by @drbrettmueller

What actually happens to your eye during LASIK? 👁️

It may look a little intimidating, but the process is more precise and much quicker than many people realize.

First, numbing drops are used to keep your eye comfortable. Then, a laser creates a thin corneal flap, allowing the surgeon to precisely reshape the underlying corneal tissue based on your prescription. Once the correction is complete, the flap is repositioned and begins healing naturally; no stitches required.

The laser portion itself takes only a short amount of time, but those few moments can reduce your dependence on glasses and contacts for years to come.

Watch the video for a step-by-step look at how LASIK works.
