thank you #WCP26 at Stockholm, Sweden for the opportunity to present my research on early life environmental influences of emotional-behavioural problems in children and adolescents in a low-and-middle income country (LMIC)😌

before you ask why research LMIC?! we have SO much to learn from the underserved populations, all the social factors we detect in high income countries - we don’t see those in LMIC studies, but we detect everything else 🥺

as a #devneuroepidemiologist, I’m here for the people!!!

from concept to finals - so seamless 🥲

Can say I’ve dined at the same place as Nobel Prize laureates?! 🤯

With a multidisciplinary PhD and now postdoc, I have the privilege of attending and presenting at different conferences across several fields hehe 🤓

This was my first psychiatry-focused conference at the World Congress of Psychiatry with ~5000 attendees #WCP26 - organised by the World Psychiatric Association with over 250k psychiatrists worldwide. Honestly, grateful to learn and be inspired by SO many innovative, ground-breaking global experts in the field 🧠

The brain is the coolest organ!!! 💯

🇸🇪 Stockholm, Sweden was the perfect city for it (one of the most well-balanced green-blue and sustainable cities I’ve ever visited and I’ve been to 35 countries). May have been tempted to move here every day while I was there!!

Being invited to dine at the same place where our Nobel Prize laureates are honoured at their Royal Banquet at Stockholm City Hall?! Truly a highlight, this little neuroscientist was mesmerised the whole night ✨

Mind blown, probably one of my favourite conferences to date! I’m also presenting at the world’s largest neuroscience conference in November, see you there xx

I can’t even keep up with myself 🫪

Being a first-gen woman in STEM, a neuroscientist and lover girl, I have no idea what I’m doing majority of the time, so I’m just doing what I enjoy and I guess all my hard work and efforts are all coming back in 10-fold - So so so grateful for this life that I’m building with zero road map 🥹

Hoping to change the perception of what a scientist looks like in this modern world because you can really do it all & I’m your living proof 🥲

I like to be completely present irl so I haven’t been able to share this content in real time cos it’s kinda like b2b 😅

Actual star of our cultural wedding🧧✨

Pouring our very first cup of tea as husband and wife for the person who built the foundation of our family.

Serving Grandma at 97 years old was the most meaningful moment of our tea ceremony 🫖 - a quiet bridge between generations, traditions, and a lifetime of love.

Thanks to our family and chosen family for all travelling near and far for our Vietnamese-Chinese marriage, this was the key reason why we moved it forward a few years as usually the tea ceremony is on the same day or close to the wedding day.

Big dreams, community & grit ✨

Once a follower online, to now my dear em (little sister) in Vietnam irl. This community of like-minded, kind friends is everything - I see my younger self in so many of you. Still paving the path, still discovering and still being that badass that refuses to give up 🙂‍↔️
