Happy 21st birthday to my beautiful baby girl, Alaura Christina Kimes. 🤍

You changed my life the day you came into this world. You have brought me so much love, joy, purpose, and pride, and watching you grow into the young woman you are today has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life.

Alaura, you have made your mommy so proud. I pray God continues to cover you, guide you, protect you, and order every step you take. May every dream in your heart come true according to His will. May your life be filled with love, peace, favor, purpose, and more blessings than you could ever imagine.

No matter how old you get, you will always be my baby girl and one of the greatest reasons I thank God every single day.

I love you more than words could ever explain. Happy 21st birthday, Laura. 🤍 May God bless you with many, many more.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏽🤍 by @drdamonkimes

I had an amazing experience at this year’s Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. ❤️
@lucymcbath @donlemonofficial @drdamonkimes @amarosa @dnlgrimes @
This year marks the 55th Annual Legislative Conference. What began in 1970 as “Black Caucus Weekend” has grown into one of the nation’s leading gatherings focused on the issues impacting Black America and the global Black community. The Congressional Black Caucus itself was formally established in 1971 by 13 Black members of Congress, including the legendary Shirley Chisholm. (Congressional Black Caucus)

For 55 years, this gathering has brought together elected officials, community leaders, advocates, professionals and changemakers to discuss healthcare, education, economic opportunity, civil rights and the future of our communities. (Congressional Black Caucus Foundation)

I left inspired, connected and reminded that our voices matter. There is still so much work to do, and I’m grateful to be in the room, learning, listening and continuing to serve.
