Inspiring talk by the first Black crew member of Air Force One @buckheadclub She flew President Bush on 9/11 on the only flight over the US. Her journey to her own “first “ from Bermudan immigrant into the Air Force is truly American but no longer possible in this country for anyone not white. Let’s take our country back with the kind of courage shown by Flight 93 passengers #9/11 #americanhistory #blackauthorsofinstagram #blackhistory by @drdenisewrites

Engaging discussion @highmuseumofart with @atlantahistorycenter celebrating 100 years. Mammy as a negative trope used against Black people as elevated by Gone With the Wind. Get Sanders book to see the real women and girls who cared for enslavers’ children, images that belie the stereotype. No one named their child Mammy. Those women had names even if no one ever used them. #blackhistory #slaverywasachoice #gonewiththewind #margaretmitchell by @drdenisewrites

It’s hard when the place tells you that you don’t belong; that you are undeserving. Laura Hampton, like me, feels it too. Read why (🔗 in bio) #historicalfiction #blackhistory #usa250years #obamafoundation @melanatedreader by @drdenisewrites
