Apparently we’re doing the “reasons to follow or unfollow me” trend… so let’s see how compatible we are. I’m probably your person if you believe travel is about more than checking destinations off a list.

I like beautiful hotels, excellent food, a good glass of wine, a cider or a cocktail, and a little affordable luxury. We’ll rent the car, take the scenic route, stop for the castle, and then linger in a pub.

My travel style is very much couples + group adventures, history + culture, food + drinks, beautiful stays + memorable experiences.

Not all-inclusive resorts.
Not tour buses.
Not rushing through 17 countries in 10 days.

Now tell me what we have in common. 👇
Are you a castle person? A road-trip person? A “research the destination until you practically have a PhD in it” person? Tell me your travel personality in the comments.

I’m always looking for my travel twins—and if we sound like a match, I’d love to follow you back. ✈️🥂

Hi! 👋 If you’re new here, I’m Devon.

📍 Hunterston Castle, West Kilbride, Ayrshire, Scotland

I have a PhD, but instead of keeping my research skills in academia, I use them to plan unforgettable travel experiences.

📍 Hill of Tara, Co. Meath, Ireland

I’m a Canadian married to a Scotsman, which means I consider Scotland a second home. I spend as much time as I can exploring Scotland, Ireland, and beyond, finding the places that are less touristy and more authentic—a little slice of local life and history.

Around here you’ll find:
🏰 Castles, churches, and their histories
🌿 Hidden gems and scenic road trips
🗺️ Practical itineraries you can actually use

📍 Doonagore Castle, near Doolin, Co. Clare, Ireland

I also love to share:
🥃 Whisky distilleries, cozy pubs, and wineries
✈️ Honest travel tips (including what I’d skip next time)
🧳 Travel fashion and a few packing tips

📍 Sean’s Bar, Athlone, Ireland

I believe the best trips happen when you understand the story behind the place—not just where to stand for the perfect Instagram moment.

📍 Dunrobin Castle, Golspie, Scotland

Travel is more fun when you share it with others, and my husband and I take groups to Scotland & Ireland. We love showing them the places we know and love, creating memorable experiences, and introducing them to our Scottish and Irish family and friends. I also plan travel for others, developing and reviewing itineraries and recommending where to stay, what to do, and how to get there.

📍 Falkland, Fife, Scotland

If you’re planning a trip to the UK or Europe, or you simply love meaningful travel, you’re in the right place. Tell me in the comments: Where are you joining me from, and what’s your dream destination? 🌍

I started my travel business for the discounts. 😂✈️

But somewhere along the way, something unexpected happened. I completely fell in love with it.

And here’s something about me: When I do something, I want to be the best at it. I’ve been that way my entire life.

So I dove in headfirst. Studying destinations, taking courses, attending trainings, building relationships with travel partners, and learning the ins and outs of an industry that’s far more complicated than most people realize.

From understanding which hotels truly deliver on their luxury promises to knowing the differences between suppliers, booking options, amenities, transfers, and all the little details that can make or break a trip.

But I also learned that being a great travel advisor doesn’t end when a trip is booked. What happens before and during the trip matters just as much.

That’s why I create a personalized itinerary in an app for every client, with their daily activities, flight details, hotel information, transfers, vouchers, and everything they need organized in one place.

It’s also why I’ve expanded my team. I’ve added a dedicated concierge to help ensure my clients are taken care of before and throughout their travels. And I’m bringing on destination experts because, as much as I love learning, I know I can’t possibly know everything about everywhere!

What started as a way to save money on my own travels has become a business built around something I genuinely love: creating extraordinary experiences and making sure my clients feel supported every step of the way.

And yes, after all that, I still love a good travel perk. 😂❤️

Self-awareness is the first step. Booking the trip is the second.

If you’ve ever packed a capsule wardrobe or paid a baggage fee because a European airline weighed your “carry-on,” you’re my people.

So, which slide is you? Tell me the number in the comments. And send this to your travel buddy who’s definitely a 4 (and also a 9 and a 10) 😂

If you’ve been saying “someday” about Scotland, Ireland, or Canada, I’d love to plan it for you, villages, castles, and good lattes included. Save this for your next trip and DM to start planning.

Some people have zero interest in travel. Meanwhile, I’m standing on 60-million-year-old volcanic rock wondering how I’ll ever see it all.

The Giant’s Causeway is about 40,000 basalt columns formed when lava cooled and cracked. Legend says the giant Finn McCool built it to cross the sea to Scotland, and there are matching rock formations on the coast of Scotland. Coincidence? You decide 😉

I can’t help you see everything, but I can help you see this. As a destination expert with @epictravelwithamy, I plan Northern Ireland trips down to the last detail. DM me or tap the link in my bio to start planning.

Pretty sure the feeling is mutual. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

And if Scotland is missing you, Castle Stalker is a pretty good place to start your reunion. Sitting dramatically on its own little island, this 15th-century castle looks like it was pulled straight from a storybook. Surrounded by mountains, water and a lot of Scottish atmosphere, it’s one of those places that makes you stop and think, “Yep. This is why I came to Scotland.”

If your relationship with Scotland has officially entered the I miss you and need to see you again phase, let me help. Through my collaboration with @epictravelwithamy, I can help you plan a Scotland trip that feels personal, thoughtful, and completely worth the wait. It’s time to reunite with your lost love. ❤️

Going to Scotland? Read your way there!📚

I’ve always thought a good book can make a trip even better. When you read about the history, castles, clans, landscapes, and people of a place before you visit, you arrive with a completely different perspective. And there’s something pretty magical about standing somewhere you’ve already pictured in your head while reading a story.

I’ve read a lot of these books. I’ve also visited many of the places they describe — which is probably why I love combining my two favourite things: researching a destination and actually going there.

So I put together some of my favourite books to read before, during, or after a trip to Scotland, from sweeping Highland romances and Jacobite history to mysteries, contemporary stories and one delightfully steamy romance. 🔥

📚 Save this for your next Scotland trip and send it to the person who is always reading on vacation.

And if you’re dreaming about Scotland but don’t want to spend 47 hours researching castles, routes, hotels, and opening times…That’s where Amy and I come in. As a Scotland destination expert with @epictravelwithamy, I can help turn your Scotland wish list into an actual itinerary — tailored to how you want to travel.

📥 DM me to find out how we can help.

Now tell me: what Scottish book would you add to this list? What ones have you read and loved?

Some places in Scotland make you fall in love with the country all over again. Speyside is one of those places. The landscape, the River Spey, the whisky, the little villages, and the history make you start planning your next trip before you’ve even left.

Craigellachie Bridge is yet another reminder that Scotland manages to make even crossing a bridge feel like a proper travel experience.

This iconic bridge was designed by Thomas Telford and built between 1812 and 1814, spanning the River Spey with its elegant cast-iron arch. It was an impressive piece of engineering for its time, and the bridge is now a Category A listed structure. The original bridge carried road traffic until the early 1970s, but today it’s only open to pedestrians and cyclists.

There’s a little history, a lot of beauty, and one more reason to add Speyside to your Scotland itinerary. Because nothing on this earth will convince me that you can visit Scotland and not immediately start planning your return.

Interested in a trip to Scotland that includes time in Speyside? @epictravelwithamy and I are just one message away from making your Scotland travel dreams come true 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Turns out, spending years earning a PhD was excellent preparation for my next research project: finding the places worth travelling to and planning trips that are every bit as magical as I imagined. 📚✈️

Because if there’s one thing my PhD taught me, it’s how to ask questions, dig deeper, find the details, and never settle for the first answer. And now? I’m putting those skills to work in the travel space. I’m so excited to be collaborating with @epictravelwithamy as a destination expert for Scotland, Ireland & Canada!

Through Epic Travel with Amy, we can help you plan every step of a thoroughly researched and thoughtfully designed trip—from the big-picture itinerary to the little details that make it feel like it was created just for you.

Whether you’re dreaming of Scotland’s winding roads, Ireland’s dramatic landscapes, or exploring more of Canada, @epictravelwithamy and I would love to help you turn that dream into a trip you can actually experience.

📩 Ready to start planning? Reach out to @epictravelwithamy and me to chat about your next adventure. Your dream trip deserves more than a quick Google search or a cookie-cutter tour. Let’s make it something special. ✨
