🍇 Warm days, cool nights, a tropical storm or 2, grapes that came in ahead of schedule made for one of the most unique harvests we’ve seen. Every early year asks something different of us — and of the growers who’ve spent months walking their vines + reading weather tea leaves. We are all in except for one single block of Chardonnay that Like likes to really hang out. sSoked that I got to bring baby Ethan to the crushpad this year. Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it. Cheers! 🍇✨

🥳🎈THIS guy - the guy that can take a pump apart AND put it back together and have it work, who makes THE best crab, lemon + green onion risotto, cooks steaks PERFECTLY, who is patient with me and our kids, loves a night-time glass of wine watching the stars in Ballard and supports all of my long list of projects - just turned 43. Harvest is underway 🍇 2 weeks in and picking fruit a little earlier than our usual late-August/early-September start. This year’s twist: our first disgorge project was the first thing into the winery for us on 8/12! Harvest is off to the races! 🍇✨🐎
“Bring your kids to work day” is even more fun during harvest! June loves sampling ripening grapes and walking vineyards with Mom. Ethan loves ALL the winery equipment sounds - the beeping of a backing forklift, the whirring of a press, the zshzsh sound of a pressure washers. Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it… my cup runneth over.

Dreamcôte harvest kicked off 8/13 with Rancho Los Alamos Chardonnay for our Santa Barbara Sparkling — we’re tracking about 10 days early this year. The fruit is looking (and tasting) incredible. Buckle up, it’s going to be a FAST one! 🏎️💨
