The porcupine puffer fish is one of the most recognizable and charismatic fish on our reefs. However with coastal development and reef degradation on the rise, their home is at risk.

The Feral Friends Showdown allows us to help wildlife populations through an innovative bridge created by live painters.

Voting for a winner of the competition is a direct donation to the chosen nonprofit behind each competition. Each painting competition theme is structured around the benefitting nonprofit.

This beautiful painting by Melissa Mastrangelo was such a creative way to bring coral reef conservation to the forefront of competition guests minds at one of our showdowns earlier this year. This painting won that competition and each vote was a donation to coral reef conservation.

We can’t wait to see how masterpieces created live at the next round of Feral Friends will connect viewers to local conservation initiatives

See you October 23rd at the @covebrewery to raise awareness for @seaturtlespecialists

First clip in this reel captured by @consciouscontentclips who will be back at this upcoming competition as media support

Paradise Reflection canvas print by @dreamincolorart

Mellisa, with her art seeks to represent subjects as they appear in everyday life. It’s about capturing a scene's true essence through careful observation and attention to detail. Capturing nature goes beyond simply illustrating what's visible. It's about conveying depth, emotion, and a sense of place. Perspective is not merely a tool; it's the magic that transforms a scene into an immersive experience. Through perspective, a canvas becomes a window, inviting viewers to step in, explore, and feel the emotions painted into every corner.

VENOM by @dreamincolorart

Look closer.

And then look again. 👀

For Melissa Mastrangelo, capturing nature isn't simply about painting what's visible.

We have so many artists, vendors and sponsors left to introduce you to who will be participating in the next Feral Friends Showdown! 🐾

Today on our line up: Melissa Mastrangelo

She is a local artist who can always be found painting marine creatures, and she’s been both the Feral Friends champion and runner up in her past competition runs.
