Heels, like steps that never learnt curfew.
Pearls, like chains that never learnt obedience.

One carries her heels home before dawn. The other carries broken traditions through the palace, loud enough for everyone to hear.

She slips back barefoot, careful not to wake the court, but the pearls refuse discretion, announcing freedom with every drag across the marble.

By sunrise, both carry the evidence of a night the palace will never speak of.
