I realized I’ve never done a formal introduction so, 👋 Hi! I’m Danielle, a wife and mother of 2 young boys from Maryland 🦀 I’ve been a reader my whole life but as an adult I was mostly reading because I was “supposed to”. Then I discovered ACOTAR and remembered how fun reading could be and how it can serve as an escape, entertainment and therapy all in one. Ever since I’ve been rediscovering my love for reading and only reading what I want to read, mostly romantic fantasies but with some romcom and true romance sprinkled in 💕

Now that I’ve updated my review template, I figured it’s time for me to update my rating scales too!

We all know star ratings are subjective, but I’m going to rate purely on how the book made me feel. I can ignore some typos or minor plot holes if the book gave me all the feels!

Depending on your comfort level with spicy books, your spice scale may be different from mine. I read a lot of spice so it takes a lot to make me blush. Most of my book recs will be about 3 🌶️s, with 4-6 open door scenes.

Knowing how much spice is in a book is great, but I found myself wanting to know what kind of spice I’m getting, so I invented my kink scale! This is a sliding scale to show you just how filthy 🥵 the spice is going to be. This is different from the spice scale because it doesn’t measure the number of spicy scenes, only the content of them.

I won’t spoil it , but just trust me, you need to read The Encore Effect by @caradion.author This is now one of my favorite scenes I’ve ever read, I was smiling like a fool with happy tears in my eyes 🌸🌻🌹

6⭐️ 3.5🌶️ and allll the feels. Second chance romance done right. I laughed. I cried. One of my favorite reads of 2026.

My current ARC, The Encore Effect by @caradion.author is exactly what I needed 🙌

Not going to lie, I was starting to be afraid that I overhyped this release in my head, but I never should have doubted Cara. I’ve been waiting for more Midnight Storm since I read Key Change back in the spring, and this is delivering! I’m almost half way done and already know it’s going to be another 5⭐️ banger. It releases October 16th and you’ll want to snag it if you love:

📖 Forever Offsides by @jsamanbooks

This is available NOW! And was an amazing listen with some of my favorite tropes:

This is full of epic yearning, great flirting and delicious spice, and I love a strong female lead who isn’t afraid to ask for what she needs 👏This was my first book in the Forever Boston series and universe. It can definitely be read as a stand alone, but there were a few times where it felt like drinking from a firehose trying figure out who was who and their relationship to everyone else in the group. I’m so intrigued now by some of the other relationships that I will definitely be back to this universe soon!

📖 Obsidian Rift by @authorjageorge is the spiciest book I’ve read so far in 2026

This was a wild, hot ride 🥵 this post-apocalyptic dystopian romance is perfect if you want an easy to follow, end-of-the-world-ushered-in-by-corrupt-religious-leaders storyline as a nice backdrop to some filthy spice. By the end of this book our FMC has 4 boyfriends and a girlfriend and most of the boyfriends are boyfriends with each other 😅

When the world ends, time becomes arbitrary. And all that matters is survival. Unless it’s Altar Night, the anniversary of The Rift breaking open.
The night that the Holy Men worship their god, to renew their pious lifestyle and strive to keep the rest of us in line.

Secondly, this book was so fun. If you like tab 0o, forbidden, age gap romances then you need to listen. This was my first QB Tyler book and I will definitely be back for more. Thank you @qbtyler.author and @mustloveaudio for the early listen!
