I’ve always had a bit of a thing for colour. 🌸

The brighter the print, the more unusual the pattern, the more I fall in love with it.

There’s something about beautiful fabrics and a splash of colour that can completely change how you feel, even if you’re just pottering around the house with a cup of tea.

That’s what I love about choosing the fabrics for Dressing Down. Pieces that make everyday moments feel that little bit more special.

Because who says dressing gowns have to be boring? 💛

Things I’m ghosting this October 👻🍷

Mum guilt, people pleasing, playing it safe with my style, keeping my favourite outfits for occasions that never seem to happen and pretending I’ve got this whole small business thing figured out. 😂

Because somewhere in your 30s, you realise life’s too short for uncomfortable pyjamas, second-guessing what you wear and doing things just because you feel like you should.

Consider this my official notice: we’re wearing the nice things, embracing more colour and romanticising the little things in life. Preferably from the comfort of home, with a glass of wine in hand. 🥂

A little Sunday update from Ormskirk Market🤍

My husband was looking after the stall today while I spent the day with the kids 🥰

Leaving my job to give Dressing Down my all has been exciting, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a bit scary too! A quiet start brings a few nerves, so hearing that things had picked up was lovely.

Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, had a browse or took something home today. There’s a very real family behind this little business, and every bit of support means so much 💕

And a big thank you to my husband for holding the fort while I had some time with our little ones 🤍

A little look at the people behind Dressing Down 🤎

I work closely with a wonderful team of talented makers in India, bringing my designs to life through their incredible craftsmanship.

From choosing fabrics and developing designs to seeing each finished piece, it’s a process we work on together 💕

Everything is handmade in small batches, with so much care and attention to detail.

And I think there’s something really lovely about knowing the hands that made something you wear. That a piece hanging in your wardrobe has its own little story, and people behind it who have put their time, skill and care into making it.

It’s one of my favourite parts of running Dressing Down, and something I’m incredibly proud to share.

Because there’s so much more to our pieces than what you see on the rail. ✨
