Directed by Sam i , the music video for “Break Me Open” by TRY (feat. RY X) took a pretty wild swing in the best way — blending 1980s horror aesthetics with some seriously cutting-edge AI-driven post production.

What started as practical cinematography turned into something way bigger, with nearly every frame getting rebuilt through AI modeling and dataset mapping in post. Definitely not your average music video…

Had a blast shooting the “A Squire for Hire” promo for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for HBO with Marshawn Lynch, The Chainsmokers, and Noah Beck.

One of those spots where the concept is already hilarious on paper… and somehow it turned out even funnier once it all came together.

Always a good time when a promo fully commits to the bit.

Follow That Shrimp! 🍤🤖

A little BTS showing what goes into pulling off a shot like this, from the initial previs and planning to programming the robot, testing the moves, and finally executing on set.

The fun thing about motion control is that the finished shot might only last a few seconds, but getting there involves a whole lot of problem-solving, timing, and tiny adjustments.

All that work just to follow a shrimp. And I'd happily do it again. 😂

A little bit of everything from the cosmetics side of my camera work. 💄

Lipsticks, foundations, powders, creams, and all the tiny details that make these products interesting to shoot.

Cosmetics cinematography is a fun challenge because every surface reacts differently to light. Getting the textures, reflections, colors, and camera movements just right takes a fair bit of tinkering. And I do love tinkering.

OTW by Vans teamed up with Dutch artist Piet Parra to reimagine the Half Cab, it wasn’t just about a sneaker drop — it was about honoring skate history.

We shot this at the Vans Skate Park in Huntington Beach with Curren Caples, leaning into Parra’s surreal, organic aesthetic and letting the movement drive the frame.

As a DP, skate projects are all about rhythm. You’re reacting to speed, lines, air, landings — but still keeping the lighting and composition intentional. The goal was to make it feel raw and authentic without losing that polished commercial edge.

Skate culture has energy. The cinematography just needs to respect it.

Doing robot ops or camera ops usually makes for a simpler set day than my DP days — but it also gives me a chance to really tune into the details.

The timing, framing, movement, repeatability, and all the tiny adjustments that can make a shot work. Nice to occasionally have fewer hats on and just obsess over the one I’m wearing.

No matter how many sets I step onto, the excitement still peaks when you start seeing everything come together.

The lighting is dialed, the camera move works, the set looks right, talent or product is in place, and suddenly the thing everyone has been planning for weeks is right there on the monitor.

That moment never really gets old. by @drew__lauer

A little flavor journey with @maggi. 🍜

Noodles are deceptively tricky in front of a camera. Steam disappears fast, texture changes between takes, and getting that perfect lift means coordinating food styling, lighting, camera movement and timing down to the second.

A lot of work for a few seconds of noodles looking exactly as delicious as they should.
