MatterForm is a Ventura-based acid jazz and funk collective blending jazz improvisation, soul, hip-hop, fusion, and psychedelic grooves into a sound that is uniquely their own.

Over the past four years, the group has developed its sound throughout the Ventura and Santa Barbara music scenes, building a reputation for immersive live performances and adventurous instrumentals. Their upcoming self-titled debut album, releasing June 19, 2026, captures that journey across seven tracks of cosmic grooves, lo-fi textures, and genre-bending musicianship.

With singles like "Oxnardis" and "Toaster" already introducing listeners to their sound, MatterForm continues to push boundaries while contributing to Ventura County's growing creative community.

"Matterform blends acid jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, and fusion into a groove-driven sound all their own."

"Their self titled debut album (releasing June 19th, 2026) captures four years of developing cosmically adventurous and irresistible grooves." taken in The Grape by @drew_espejo
