From the Hood to Mt. Hood🏔️💯

Still trying to process this race and wrap my mind around everything that happened this past weekend. I’m not gonna lie I was crushed and heartbroken when I found out the race had been called off. This one hurt. It meant a lot to me being my first 100miler and the amount of work put in.

I made it 74 miles deep, and there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to quit. I was on a mission to finish. Still had plenty left in the tank to give. But as much as I wanted to chase that finish line, I’m grateful I got the opportunity to experience this weekend alongside my brothers. The energy, the people, and the camaraderie were unmatched. It was inspiring seeing everyone push and the support. The course itself was absolutely beautiful.

Just a few days before the start the course was changed to a looped format with an additional 5,000 feet of elevation. In my mind I was like oh yeaa let the curveballs begin. I was nervous, but I was ready to embrace whatever the mountain threw at me.

One thing this race reminded me is that, just like life, you can do everything right and things still won’t go your way. That’s just how it is sometimes. It is what it is. Take it on the chin, learn from it, and keep it moving.

There’s beauty in the unknown. You never really know how the story is going to unfold, and I think that’s part of the adventure. This weekend definitely challenged me in ways I didn’t expect I learned a lot about myself. I’m proud of the effort I gave, and I can confidently say I built my mountain legs haha. Even though the story didn’t end the way I hoped, I’m walking away with memories, lessons, and a deeper appreciation for the journey itself. Perspective.

Lastly, thank you to @lilant00 @_ajmen1 @van__gough perez who helped crew me this weekend and thugged it out through the long hours. Special shoutout to @younggdanii for taking the time outta your day to catch some photos/videos along the way. I wouldn’t have made it as far as I did without you guys. We had fun out there thru all the laughs, serious moments, and everything in between. Forever grateful❤️

Second 100k ultra under my belt!🐊🔥
Left it all out there and emptied the tank

First off I want to thank God for giving me the strength to complete this ultra, it was tough. Huge thank you to all my family and friends for the support. Believe it or not yall had me fired up!

Proud of myself of hitting my time goal it was a mental fight all the way through.

First loop was a good warmup loop learning the course and maintaining a good pace. But I started to lose hope in the second loop due to my knee flaring up really bad like around mile 18. Started to lose my target pace and having my goal slowly slip away. As I started my third loop I told myself this is where we work and make up lost time. Slowly but surely started to chip away and man did I come back alive lol EVERYTHING was clicking. Knee pain was still there but my body and mind were locked in. Came back to home base and let the team know that we’re sooo back, we can still hit the goal! Last loop was the finisher. Pure willpower. Started to take souls one by one while maintaining my target pace all the way through. It was tough holding for that long but we got it done!!

Habanero Hundred 100k Ultra Complete🔥
Got my first ultra belt buckle!

I want to thank God, my family, and friends that came out and supported. None of this would be possible without yall and the man above. Grateful beyond words for each of you for thugging it with me out there!🫶🏽

I’m officially an ultra runner!
I can finally cross off one of my bucket list dreams of running a marathon distance but decided to run over two marathons in one race and conquer one of the hardest races in Texas! Wild, I know lol

62 miles plus an extra 1 for the love of the game, 3,337 elevation gain, 21 hours 19min straight total time. Man what an experience.

Trained so hard for this ultra and it was TOUGH. Physically and mentally probably one of the hardest things I’ve done. I knew it was going to be hard. I knew it was going to suck. I was mentally locked in even when my body wanted to quit. Entire lower half of my body started to shut down around the halfway point. Vomitted couples of times and all the inclines with sand were killer to the body. All while the heat was burning everyone.

Getting to the finish line was never guaranteed and I knew I couldn’t let myself quit no matter how much in pain I was. Each mile was earned. Extremely proud of myself. Little bit of everything this month. Some of the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Just grateful for all of it the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Still remember pulling up to SF2 @ilovesf2 with the money saved up for our first small drop haha. Crazy to think how far we’ve come since then. Grateful for every step, every lesson, and everyone who’s been along for the rideeee.
